Lovely pattern! Don't know when I will get around to crocheting it. I have a dozen projects in the works right now! Thank you for the tutorial. You are very clear with your instructions too. Neatly joined with the new colors and I may try joining colors the way you do. Have a wonderful day!

Four hours later, I have completed six rows, and I'm back on the single crochet. Clear simple instructions. Thank you so much. It looks like I'm a pro!! 😊😊

Hi, I’m in the mood for making a Tulip Stitch and cat stitch blanket for my sister. You are my hero! You are so fun that I started designing my own patterns. I was in a slump. I wanted to go back to the basics. You really helped to inspire me. Thanks for giving me some new tools and helping me reach my goals. It's a very beautiful stitch, nicely explained. I find the leaves a bit thin to my taste so I'm gonna flesh them up by doing 2 double crochet puffs. I plan to add this stitch to a gigantic granny square blanket so I'll have to figure out the proper stitch count, probably by having a multiple of 3 number of rows... Fingers crossed !
Thankyou for your beautiful patern and I am going to make an afaghan out of this for my self. And a pillow set for spring time. I love the stitches. I have been chrocheting since I was 7years old. Thankyou Susan morris from Boston Massachusetts

hello. so I've got my yarn and crochet hook to begin the tulip stitch pattern. ill be making an afghan size blanket. I have started over 3 times because its not laying flat. I'm using a med 4 yarn and hook H/8. its almost like its ruffling. any suggestions? thank you
@SecretYarnery7 жыл бұрын
Hi Terri! So sorry you are getting stuck in the beginning! Make your starting chain with a larger size hook - by a full size (+1mm) or even 2mm. Start with a quick chain 20, and then work back with your stitches for a row. Stretch your work... the foundation chain should almost have the same stretch as the top row of stitches. Does that make sense? Hope that helps! You can also see a bit of the technique in my latest tutorial - just watch the beginning few minutes - until I stretch the chain. Hope that helps? Christa. xx! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnK2qGuqrJ6Dps0

Hi Jamaca! Welcome to a wonderful life of crochet! I used regular craft yarn (like Red Heart Super Saver) for this tutorial. Just the basic acrylic yarn. It's a size 4, technically. But you can use any yarn you have - just use the hook size that is recommended for your yarn!

I have been trying to make a blanket of this with a different video/pattern. I keep messing up how many stitches are across when I do the foundation color. if I make a chain of 180 plus the final 2, should I have 181 stitches in each row between flower/stem rows?
@SecretYarnery7 жыл бұрын
The foundation row can be so tricky! Basically - you need a stitch count that is divisible by 3. If it works out wrong, you can always "adjust" your stitches... ;) xx!

I am interested to know how you figure out the foundation color amount for a baby blanket (approx 36" square). I have lots of scrap material for tulips, can change color of tulips if needed ...I am thinking of using a large amount of foundation color, but need to know how much...would appreciate guidance.
@SecretYarnery7 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris! What a great project! I would make a foundation chain about 36" long, and not care too much about the stitch count. When you are making the foundation chain, keep counting to 3 as you go along: (1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3) so you know that the final number will be divisible by 3. Chain 1 more, and work your way back with single crochet. :) Hope that helps? Christa. xx!

Thank you! I will try that.

The tutorial is awesome. There was only one issue. You did not need to go over and over how you joined your new color. It became very annoying. BTW if you used the Russian knot or the Magic knot you wouldn't have had to drive use crazy with your tails every time you changed colors.
