I started out watching this video. The front rows are vertical and the rear rows are horizontal. Then I started watching the updated video when joining the top and bottom. I didn't realize that the new hat in the video had it reversed. The front rows are vertical and the top is horizontal. I don't see a twist like I should see in my hat. My twist is now underneath where it cannot be seen well. Any suggestions? I am confused about what I made. I tried to turn it inside out, but I'm really not sure of what to do. Also, my hat is larger, so I had to decrease more. What is the rule on decreasing? The first video started decreasing after 10 or 9 double crochets I think. The second video started decreasing after four double crochets. I wanted to wear the hat tomorrow for my birthday.

I love this style of hat and your relaxed manner of walking your viewers through the steps. Very clear and detailed. I made the hat and it came out small. Decided to frog it and start over with a chain of 70. Will also add extra FPDC rows before the decrease rows. I hope that makes sense and gives me the result I want.

I had a hard time with the twisted part, but I eventually got it after studying the final picture for a long time. Mine came out a little small, but I tend to crochet tight. Next time I will go up a hook size for the chain part or make the chain longer. Great tutorial! I am behind on my crochet game. This was a nice project to get back into it.

Thank you so much. I hope you are a subscriber❤ Here is a tip for the small hat.. If you made it out of acrylic, hit the seam with some steam to relax the fabric. I use a towel and iron. Make sure you are only on the seam.

Everybody get stuck at the twist connect. When you think it is all wrong....you actually got it right. I have some picture and short video clip on my Facebook page that will help you understand how to connect it. This is by far the most difficult, confusing and completely twisted (lol) KZbin video I have ever watched in my entire life. I had to restart and unravel about 4-5 times. I went 15 times around on the top and the bottom, then had to unravel again. When I got to the second part of the hat...the top part I couldn't figure out which way to go. You zoomed in so close it was hard to see what was going on and which direction you were going. Because you zoomed in so close, the only thing you can see was the stitch and not the whole process of making the hat. I think if you didn't zoom in so close, the tutorial wouldn't have been so confusing for me. I was able to finally finish the hat after 6 attempts. The hat and pattern is absolutely stunning. Thank you for sharing!

Yay! The next hard part is trying to figure out how to correctly wear it, lol. Its reversible. so it doesnt matter what way you wear it. I usually make sure the twist is above my ear, then the swoop will be in the correct place

Here is a copy of my comment just incase you get stuck.....⭐⭐TIP⭐⭐⭐If your hat feel wrong after you have completed your 15 tail passes and your front post stitches look like back post stitches. ⭐⭐Turn your work inside out. ⭐⭐This is where most people get lost

I see you, lol. Once you get the hang of front post it easy. Think of the Dc as a Bar/ post . Instead of going into the regular top stitch, you going to sneak behind the Bar/Post and push it forward...I like to speak less natural stiches out loud as I go to help me (hope that makes sense)... Check out 5:50 of the video. i'm speaking thru the stitches to create the Fpdc

You seem to love to crochet, and I’m delighted. My problem I’m having is with you not using standardized terms. The nomenclature of crochet is quite standard so when you use descriptive words such as, lumps and bumps and are trying to tell us to crochet in the round, you’re really talking about a spiral which is a completely different thing.
