I just watched the video in full and rewrote the pattern based on what is in the description and also in the video. This is NOT my pattern obviously. Just trying to help myself understand and thought I'd share. I haven't started it yet but I'm thinking it's going to take at least 300-350 yards of medium/worsted weight yarn based off other similar patterns. Part1: Row 1: ch 3 then 12 dc into the center circle, sl st to join Row 2 - 15: ch 2, 1 dc into each st, sl st to join (12) Part2: Row 1 = ch 2, [2 dc in first st, 1 dc in next], sl st to join (18) Row 2 - 14 = ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st to join (18) Part3: row1 = ch 2, 2 dc in each st around, sl st to join (36) row 2 - 11 = ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st to join (36) Part 4: Row 1: ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in 3rd st], sl st to join (48) Row2 = ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in 4th st], sl st to join (60) Row 3: ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in 5th st], sl st to join (72) Row 4: ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 5 sts, 2 dc in 6th st], sl st to join (84) Row 5: ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 6 sts, 2 dc in 7th st], sl st to join (96) Part 5: Rows 1 - 8: ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st to join (96) Part 6: Row 1: ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in 4th st], sl st to join (120) Row 2: ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in 5th st], sl st to join (144) Row 3: ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 5 sts, 2 dc in 6th st], sl st to join (168) Row 4: ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 6 sts, 2 dc in 7th st], sl st to join (192) Row 5: ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 7 sts, 2 dc in 8th st], sl st to join (216) Row 6: ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 8 sts, 2 dc in 9th st], sl st to join (240) Row 7: ch 2, dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next 9 sts, 2 dc in 10th st], sl st to join (264) Row 8: ch 1, sc in each st around over wire, sl st to join (264) Row 9: ch 1, moving backward (to the right) *do not turn* sc in each st around, sl st to join, tie off and leave a tail long enough to weave in. This completed to brim of the hat. Part 7 creates the rings of texture on the outside of the hat *Starting where Part 1 meets Part 2* Row 1: slide hook into a st, using a separate piece of working yarn ch 1, sc in each st around, sl st to join Row 2: ch 1, sc into same st as joining, then 2 sc in each st around, sl st to join, tie off and leave a tail long enough to weave in **Skip 3 rows moving down the hat and repeat for 10-11 rings or until you reach where the brim and body of the hat meet**

NOT BEGINNER FRIENDLY!!!! So I have been working on this hat on 12/29/2021 from 1:30pm until I gave up at 9:32pm as this has been the most frustrating pattern to follow and I have been doing it from your written instructions with a little help from your video which has some captions that are pretty helpful then not so great ones( not sure if it’s a language barrier). Stitches do not add up from row to row and yes I have counted every one of them. It’s a super cute hat but goodness. I hope a newbie is not trying this for their first project cuz I don’t want them to give up from being frustrated. I have been crocheting for about 10 years and I didn’t want to give up but had too… Thank you for your time and effort.

I just finished my hat. It actually came out just like the picture, I love it. The pattern in the description is accurate (I think it was updated); the only part that threw me off was Section 7 (where you make the ridges), but just go to 21:45ish in the video to see how she does that and it makes more sense. I used 2 pieces of 19 gauge wire because it's what I had but I do wish I'd had something thicker. 3mm hook is the correct size for an adult - the hat seems too small at first but the end result fit my big head and my husband's normal sized head. Use worsted weight yarn. Good luck!
@marewere Жыл бұрын
Hii, is there any chance you can tell me how you placed the wire in the hat? I cant find much information on that 😢
@nightlockk1 Жыл бұрын
@@marewere you're going to crochet around the wire as if it was part of the previous row, if that make sense. So, when doing a single crochet, hold your wire parallel on top of the previous row, then (with your yarn on your hook) put your hook under the stitch of the previous row/wire, yarn over then bring it back under the stitch/wire again and complete the stitch.

@hayliharding3767 Жыл бұрын
Hey! Ik you didnt ask me but I happened to see your question - so any yarn will fit any hook, with some exceptions.
