This is so amazing and perfect. Why did I buy the tiniest crochet hook ever and try to thread the beads with each stitch off the hook. This makes so much more sense. 🤯🤯
@maddiesweirdworld3 ай бұрын
I've heard of that method too!! i guess the benefit there is that you don't have to pre-plan out your bead order or cut the yarn when you run out? but does seem more annoying because I hate working with a tiny hook hahaha

I am a pig who loves playing go fish for trinkets. That is all I could think through this 😂. For the photo frames, just in case it happens to rain while using it, could you fill it with a thin layer of UV resin and cure it? Dragonair- I FINISHED THE EYES :D. In celebration, I got some woobles. I might be able to finish them tonight, but very tired. I might get the fabritack for the eyes 🤔
@maddiesweirdworld4 ай бұрын
that's a good idea!! I might be able to seal the photos that way! WOOHOO congrats on finishing those eyes, I know that was dragging on for you LOL. how much more to go now on Dragonair?
@Zeldur4 ай бұрын
@@maddiesweirdworld Thanks :D. Yeah, I think the eyes alone took me about 4 months while fairly focused on it. For the rest, I have to cut out the body fabric, put that together, make the ear wings, make the horn, add that to the body, add the eyes, maybe figure out how to add the weight (may lessen the weight as well), stuff it.... Then I think I'm done

Is blocking basically just steaming into place?
@maddiesweirdworld3 ай бұрын
essentially yes! when working with acrylic yarns the only way to really block them is with steam, but if you work with animal or plant fibers like wool and cotton, the fibers will have more give to them and can be blocked by completely submerging them in water and then stretching them out on the mats to achieve a more relaxed and drapey fabric! it also helps just relax stitches into place and it makes your work look more uniform overall. I tend to work mostly with acrylic so i use a steamer to relax pieces if i want them to have more drape (especially for sweaters and such). hope that helps!
