this turned out so cool! I’m a crocheter for 3 probably almost 4 years now and only tried knitting a couple times and had a breakdown each time lol. Although I have tried to start practicing it again and I’m doing pretty well :D

I'm 13 and I've been knitting since I was 9 and I'm knitting my first actual clothing because I usually make assesories and this is impressive because I think I'm too scared to try things out of my comfort zone but its interesting to see people that have never knitted they don't have a comfort zone yet so they can achieve many impressive things

Love watching your videos. You did great. I would always suggest everyone learn how to knit on straight needles. It was already frustrating enough for me when I learned and then to have to learn on circular would have pissed me off. You did great!!

I love how this turned out! Mistakes make it so unique so I even love that part of this! When I started knitting after crocheting for like 5 years I had to (and still do) use continental knitting, my hands don’t understand the throw method at all lol

I’ve finally gotten the hang of knitting after multiple failed attempts! I’ve been crocheting for years but the number of live stitches on knitting needles always intimidated me. And the different types of needles (straight, circular, dpns) were also confusing IMO if you had tight tension when you first started crocheting I would recommend the slippery aluminum needles. Wooden or non-slip needles did NOT work for me lol. I felt like I had to peel every stitch off of the needle, which just made me more tense and knit tighter

twisted rib is very very well done. you are doing great. don't worry about little mistakes because it just a way to learn and it is not always too noticeable and later you can learn how to fix it when it happens. either way your doing great, try not to overthink and overwhelm yourself and just keep going. keep experimenting, don't be afraid to frog/ rip back when necessary 👍👍👍👍👍🎉🎉

i find that doing the long tail cast on, that doesnt happen to me, but when i do regular cast on like hayhay the needles keep getting further apart, i think its a tension thing?
@ariannalista40692 жыл бұрын
@@gloomscroller yeah I think it’s both as well. As I got more experience in knitting and a more consistent tension, that kind of thing stops happening.
@tina66042 жыл бұрын
Its because (of what is see in the video) she's pulling the stitches thight by pulling the needles apart, but you should pull the yarn that goes to the yarn ball to get them thighter instead Good job though!

It's really amazing!!. What's the name of the stitch you did?. I'm making my first project and it's a cardigan for my little sister and my stockinette (?) stitch it's kinda weird?. It opens up a bit?. It's fine but I really liked the one you made!.
@JaneWirawan2 жыл бұрын
Hope you don't mind me answering ☺️ The stitch she used is also stockinette/stocking stitch. You said yours opens up a bit, I think it might be because you have a looser tension than hers. You can probably fix it by using a smaller needle, or just knit tighter :)
@malujan2 жыл бұрын
@@JaneWirawan thank you!!. Do you know if there's a difference between continental knitting and the throw method in the end result?.
@JaneWirawan2 жыл бұрын
@@malujan for me continental makes the tension a bit tighter, but it's actually different for every person. It also depends on how you tension the working yarn.

Enjoyed watching your struggles as a crocheter trying to learn to knit, and how well you're doing! I'm a longtime crocheter as well, hoping to try my hand at knitting, so your video is very validating for me. Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch your audio levels! When you're talking it's very very quiet, so I have to turn up the volume, then the music comes in during B-roll and suddenly it's blasting loud ---- imagine if I were wearing headphones! Please adjust your volume levels so you don't keep making the mistake of just about every KZbinr who seems to not realize that AUDIO BALANCE is key. (My husband is a professional videographer and I do video work as well -- it's not that hard to adjust the audio levels. Easy as pie in DaVinci Resolve, if you're using that.) Otherwise, really enlightening watching your journey as a beginning knitter coming from crochet. Your sweater is looking great!

Try a long tail cast on method. I used to have that problem until i tried a long tail cast on.
@lollyscraftsdesign24622 жыл бұрын
You have to have a long tail so when you cast one with the main strand you then use the tail to do a cast on too then take main loop over the that one off the kneedles then cintinidoing that till you have the ample you kneed
