This video was kind of a fail in my opinion but I wanted to show you guys the reality of crocheting. This can be a frustrating hobby at times and I want to make sure you guys see all sides. I know I can come off as someone very skilled in this craft, and although I have a lot of practice and experience I still have trouble with some patterns as you can see in this video! Projects don't always turn out the way you want and thats OKAY!!!

Girl, your struggle with the top was really validating. this week I was making a bell-sleeved top with velvet yarn and I had to keep frogging it over and over again & the sleeves kept increasing. so, you're not alone! I personally really loved the bag!

Hi ! I've actually made a bolero like this (that i abandonned before the last sleeve), but I saw another tutorial where the girl was skipping every other hole for the 1 row of her sleeve. Like once you're done with front/back pannel and you're creating the circle for you arm holes, you skip one, crochet in the other, skip one crochet... and then you stop skipping for the rest of the sleeve! It's too late now but next time if someone is struggling, maybe my comment will make sense :)

Its cute, I think it only needs a little bit of personality. Maybe try adding pink stars, strawberries or maybe make it checkered? You can write something fun on it, or maybe add a charm. I would also go around the straps with the same white you used on this bag already! Hope this helps if you read it hehe

I think it's cute! I would have made the straps a little different and then added some hot pink flower decals or something else to the body of the bag! :D I also find that using a 10mm hook instead of an 8mm for wearables made with bernat blanket yarn works better

i had the same issue with the increasing stitches for the bolero... i just would skip a hole/stitch every round on the under side of the yarn (or every second round) so they it was straight. the tutorial i followed didnt mention anything about decreasing stitches which was sooooo frustrating so i understand how you feel :/

Crazy how I'm freehanding the Bolero as I'm watching this video 😂 I was already anticipating the increase because I abandoned a project with a similar pattern before. I think it has something to do with the tension/yarn type bc the number of spaces never actually changes, so I've been alternating the number of chains every few rows to "tighten" the spaces together and its been working out so far!! If anyone else is having similar trouble they could try doing that!

The bag was cute! I agree it wasn't "Barbie" I think it was the shade of pink. It's a cute bag though, it's very pastel xmas imo. I was thinking mean girl style xmas outfit but in that color pink with the white trim as soon as I saw that bag. Keep it and design an outfit around it!

i have used that tutorial twice (actually just made a pink bolero today to wear to the barbie movie later this week, what a coincidence :D) but never had the increase issue, so idk what’s going wrong for you and other people :( the bag turned out really cute 🥰

I followed a similar tutorial for a sweater and I actually had this problem. It was my mistake, since I added a ch sp in every row, cause I put a st next to my ch (I think).

Would you be more inspired to making a Barbie inspired accessory or outfit after you went to the gym and showered or after a nap? 🤔 maybe you weren’t into it because you just woke from a nap. hi new here, love your videos! i made a shrug recently too for the barbie movie and i think the thing that saved me was starting the neckline as a square if that makes sense? dont know the right terms but i used some cheap acrylic yarn and it just wasnt what i wanted. I also think if i had made that bag i would have made the strap much longer and made it more of a low hip wearing over the shoulder bag :)

What if you add a bow (maybe make the bow the closure with an elastic loop that tucks around it to close the top of the bag?). I was surprised when you stated you weren't liking it! I think it's super cute and I love that you just made it- no pattern just go! I do think the bag would fit in with a Barbie vibe if you pair it with a Barbie-esque top or outfit. Good luck! Can't wait to see what you end up wearing/making before premier day!

Wasssup!!! I followed the same pattern awhile back, and I noticed that my top was also increasing on the sleeves but I was kinda giving me bell bottom vibes and thought it was kinda cool. I was kinda freaking out after the last few rows but after I finished and put it one the sleeves kinda stretched a lil more and it wasn't as apparent like gravity did its think lmao. Anyway jus thought I would say cuz I literally related so harddd😂😂😂 .
