Thank you so much, Kenan. The bonus material regarding the west African Crocodile was very interesting too. You are 100% correct, when I lived near Cairns the cold weather was not a problem. It is a different story now that I am in Australia's Alpine regions. The use of bore water is a great idea. We have some wonderful underground water resources here which are nice and warm. This is certainly something I will look into for my aquatic and water-loving reptiles. Thanks again for answering my question.

Hey fellow Florida reptile people, the Florida legislature is trying to pass a bill banning ownership of tegus and green iguanas. If you are a florida resident, let your florida representative know you oppose this. Monitors and large snakes could be next!
@hyperion31454 жыл бұрын
But why? People are especially stupid here, why not keep them out? Not trying to argue, just wanting an explanation.
@glennsommer89014 жыл бұрын
@@hyperion3145 I think it's unfair against people like Kenan, Fred and Chandler. It's not their fault people started to lose/release their animal. Why should they be at loss because of those stupid people? In my opinion some professional people should inspect enclosures and then declare on paper who is allowed to have reptiles and who isn't. If an inspector finds a cage which is able to break, it could stop a potential outbreak of invasive creatures far better and still keep joy in people who love their critters. Florida still has far more animals dying to cats than to a few invasive reptile species combined. And why are they banning some species, even if they thought banning is a good idea, they might as well ban every reptile. Monitor lizards are far worse ecological than iguanas, and weirdly enough, having a Burmese python is still allowed as well. Man, Florida has a logic, that to this day, I can't understand...

Dublin zoo has two beautiful niles, they always wondered why they didn't grow, animals are about 30 years old now, they spent a fortune on the enclosure, water system etc etc to see if that was inhibiting growth.
