The purple stain is where the animal was shot. Not where it died.

This is such an underrated game, I mean it has 14, yes, FOURTEEN different places on Earth to go, hunt tons of different and unique animals and each one of those maps is as big as the GTA map ... plus it has bloody gorgeous looking graphics!!

There is a semi-auto .308 AR that you could hunt them with that gives you 5 rounds that you can shoot pretty quick, but something like the .300 magnum or bolt action .338 is probably a better option.

Just a heads up, your dog doesn''t trigger the animals at all neither does the flash light. Also guns have different types of ammo so it might be worth trying out each one. It's been awhile since i've played the game but I'm enjoying you coming back to it!
