Nice! I was at Rhosydd the other day, after descending off Cnicht. One of my friends with me said he wants to do the traverse through the mines. I don't think you'll get me down there, but he's keen to do it sometime. I'll forward on a link to your vid!

An hour long?? Jeeze. We had a couple of novices with us who were excited and I do have more than an hour of footage but I thought I would lapse into a coma if it was too long. It was a great adventure though. Thanks bud :o)

Would it surprise you to know I also have a problem with heights and so does our training officer who was on this trip (Budgie) ? Feel the fear and just do it anyway :o)

Questions, questions, questions. - (1) What were they mining ? - (2) Those underground lakes, are they ordinary water or are they mine acid water ? - (3) Last but not least, would you be willing to take a "Yank" through there - that's AWESOME ? - ( I have extensive underground experience, both Mining & Caving, in the U.S. ) .

They were mining "slate" and the lakes are ordinary water (no acid). We would be very happy to organise something for you if you are competent with SRT - you would need to contact us on our forum (link in the description). Cheers bud :o)

Thank you for answer. I have done climbing 1 year and I have most of the equipment i have seen in videos and read about on ukcaving. And in februari im doing the IRATA Industrial Rope Access Trade Association course so i hope thats enough. But i have never climbed in a cave.. I'm curious about, if its easy to get lost in this cave? is there a map that is new? or how do you know the path? We plan to travel in March.

I don't know of a map (but I am sure there is one). It is hard to get lost until near the end. Pretty much, if you take a wrong turn you come to an impassable point quickly so your route is forced forward. It is also fairly obvious which way everyone has travelled (like a surface footpath). However, as you leave Croesor, finding your way out of Rhosydd is difficult. You can find yourself in a quarry with a very difficult climb to get out (some cannot manage it especially if wet) or you can locate the Adit No9 exit (750m tunnel). The tunnel is difficult to locate of you have not been there and I don't know how best to describe it. Can I suggest you post a question to the forum aditnow dot co dot uk (this is the main mine forum and most people on there are very familiar with the trip) :o)

Hi! Yesterday i come home from Wales. What a adventure! Saturday morning We got into the mine. We had the map we found online. 2 pitch was very hard to find and a lot of things collapsed in that hall. The broken bridges and the boat was very nice!. But after climbing up after the boat, we were lost for about 1,5 hours.. We saw a very long rail that went upwards, we were looking for everything up, but everything was collapsed. Later we went downstairs when we found light and came out at the giant big end. And it was a little difficult to climb up the mine hole outside the mine but we made it :) We wonder where we went wrong to get to the rhosydd exit? We had found that day before we walked outside. Two pages of "details" on the forum you sp00n... The "rail" has vanished - I assume it simply fell off and landed in the drink like most of the bridges :o)
