Wow this is exactly what I needed to see! You can only get so much from the pictures given on the web. It was also great that you went out and answered all the serious questions that need to be asked before making a purchase like this. Great video well worth a like and subscribe!

So I'm a broke college student looking for a protective (more like the Bonna) case for a Large bore Tenor and a Bass trombone, as lugging both cases is a pain. Do you know of any budget friendly cases in that description?

Hi, thanks for the vid. Do you think the MB would fit in overhead plane compartments? Looking for a double tenor case that I can fly with and not have to check. Any info would be great, thanks.
@SchmittMusicTromboneShop5 жыл бұрын
It should with most larger planes (think 737 or larger.). One of the big goals with the Bonnas is keeping them compact enough to carry on. That being said, it you had to gate check it it’s not a guarantee (few cases are) but I’d feel a lot better about the fiberglass then a gigbag...

Very happy to see this video. Once I save up the funds I will be grabbing either a medium or large Cronkhite double. Though I'm curious; on your website the medium is listed as more than the large. Is there a feature difference that I am missing? Or does it simply cost more to make the medium than the large?
@SchmittMusicTromboneShop5 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the confusion! The large double is currently priced at $552.00 and the medium is $518.00; you may have caught us while we were updating the prices from Cronkhite's new pricelist! Which case you would need would really depend on what trombones you would be using it with; the medium double is designed for large bore tenor/bass trombone (up to 9.5" bell) and the large is designed for 2 basses up to 10 1/2" bells.

@@SchmittMusicTromboneShop That makes perfect sense! I'll be saving up for the medium, so I can tote around a bass and a tenor. Thank you!

Hi, great comparison, thanks! Talking about mouthpieces, have you ever tried the Griego Steve Wiest?

I have not unfortunately; I have heard very good things though!

Is the piece of foam between the two slides removable in the MB case?

Yes! Thank you. Awesome.

Are there any companies that will custom build a case for you???
@SchmittMusicTromboneShop5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, depending on what you are looking for! Custom gig bag makers such as Altieri and Cronkhite tend to offer more design/size options as fabric patterns are much easier to alter then hard-shell designs. Many makers like these, Marcus Bonna, and others will offer material and color options as well. Was there a particular case you were hoping to have built?

@@SchmittMusicTromboneShop Well first, it is a curious question since I just learned from watching your video that there are such things as dual trombone cases. Actually, I will be looking for a good bass trombone this year, hopefully sooner than later this year. And, I would like a customized trombone case for the bass. But, I think I would prefer a hard shell case. However, it would be great if you could do a comparison video on a Bach 50A3 with dual Hagmann valves vs. the Greenhoe GC-5 TIS. I watched the video of the Greenhoe GC-4 TIS with great enthusiasm. But, I am dying to learn the bass. Thanks for asking!!!

I would love to do a comparison video between the 50A3 and GC5; the biggest issue is availability (both of these models tend to be order-only and finding them together in one place, even for us, can be a challenge!)

Hey, so i recently accidentally dented the bell on my xeno. It isnt affecting the playing and the dent is pretty small but i really dont like how it makes my xeno look. I was just wondering if you knew how much it would cost to get it repaired.
@SchmittMusicTromboneShop5 жыл бұрын
The price of course depends on your location but generally I would expect a repair like this to be under $50.00; in our repair shop here in Minnesota I would guess this would be $25.00 or less...

Marcus Bonna es costoso, pero es una inversión que vale la pena para quienes tenemos 2 trombones YAMAHA, ya que el estuche de trombón bajo por si sólo parece un ataúd, mucho espacio desperdiciado

Does anyone else, besides Marcus Bonna make a hard shell double alto/tenor case?
@SchmittMusicTromboneShop5 жыл бұрын
There are a few other options; Wiseman Cases in England makes a hard shell tenor/bass double and Bags of Spain makes a tenor/alto double (not recommended). I have a bit of familiarity with the Wiseman (well-made but quite pricey) but from what I have heard of the Bags of Spain the interior design is such that it actually damages the horns...

@@SchmittMusicTromboneShop , do you know anything about these cases? Are they like the Bags of Spain cases, or maybe like the old ones? lamusainstrumentos.es/tortajada-allfiber-for-2-trombones.html
@SchmittMusicTromboneShop5 жыл бұрын
From what I can tell this does look like the Bags of Spain design, at least from the initial photos. However, it’s hard to say from the photos how the fit is for the instruments. If it offers a decent amount of protection and is fairly well built it is a very good deal; it’s just hard to tell the particulars...

@@SchmittMusicTromboneShop , can you tell at all if this is the old or new design? I heard the old one was great, but the new one is awful. I think it is returnable, but a return to overseas is a big risk
@SchmittMusicTromboneShop5 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I don't have any experience with the older design. From first glance this appears to be more similar to the new design but it's difficult to tell for sure. The price honestly concerns me a bit as well; there is a reason why cases are priced the way they are and given that the original Bags of Spain cases, and other reliable double cases, are in the $400-700+ range I would be a bit concerned about the quality...
