What a great villain! He looks so dark and dramatic with his coat made of leather, his suit and his dark sunglasses. And his vengeful motivation is really authentic. He even has a sad background story and that`s what makes a great villain. You have to feel sorry for him and you have to put yourself in his shoes even if he is the villain. So we can understand his motivation fueled by anger and hatred. I understand him, but it doesn`t mean I agree with him. Violence is never the answer! He`s the true proof, that humiliation can hurt people very much. Humiliation is also a type of violence, that harms people not physically, but mentally. True villains like Doctor Thaddeus Sivana are born because of the pain they`ve been through. This movie spreads an important message: Always treat the people around you well, based on tolerance and respect no matter if they are different. Everyone of us has weaknesses as well as strengths and nobody deserves to be judged because of them. But back to the villain. He made an epic and authentic appearance and Mark Strong made a great job as always, because he`s a fine actor and he`s born to play the villain. Just look at Lord Henry Blackwood from Sherlock Holmes, look at Septimus from Stardust or look at Frank D`Amico from Kickass. I always appreciate this guy´s talent.

Learning, against their every will to not want to learn, one of the simplest lessons about life in the most unignorable way imaginable. In their cases, learning that everything they do have consequences, consequences that may lead to results that can never be fix nor made better no matter what they may do.

As messed up as Sivana is, I honestly felt so bad for him for most of the movie. Dude was belittled by his brother and father to the point of BLAMING him for an accident that left his father crippled. No right minded father would ever do that to their son, nor brother to each other. No familial love was ever given to Sivana, so it makes sense why he only knows hate.

I’m not sorry for thinking this scene isn’t at least a little cathartic. It’s kind of like poetic justice. Treat people like garbage and they might snap. Joker did it as well, but far more intensely. Sympathetic villains are great to watch because of their depth, and Sivana truly is a deep character in my mind.
