Realistically speaking, no one's truly pure. It's a fictional movie. If Billy Batson was real, he would've succumbed to the monsters' plea as well. All of us are in the fallen nature. One of the movie's good messages is choice. We can't truly blame Doctor Sivana. It is true that both Billy and Sivana had a rough childhood. The former being abandoned by his mother, while the latter grew in verbal abuse. Despite of Billy's rough beginning, he knew what love was with the help of his adoptive parents and siblings, whereas Sivana, despite having a family, still had an awful upbringing. Family is an essential element when it comes to the development of a character of a child. To end, let me share an African Proverb that has been circulating online: The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.

You know, had Shazam given him the power when he was a boy then he might’ve changed to be better. All his life he was bullied and seen as a nuisance by his brother and father but if the wizard had been the one person who believed in him then he probably could’ve grown under Shazam’s teachings and principles to become the ideal champion, but after he lost his one opportunity of being more than what people told him he was no wonder he snapped and became a villain. Yea he failed the demon eye test thing but like he said there’s no such thing as a pure heart especially in a boy who dosent know what’s going on, plus the wizard didn’t even give any explanation about it before he tried to grab it. The reason Billy became champion was because Shazam was running out of options and dropped his perfect standards completely, not to mention the demon eye wasn’t there to test him with nor was there any other temptation from the 7 sins.
