I really love this movie lol I kept watching it over and over until I realized that it's literally defying gender norms left and right. No wonder I like it.
I also love the music in it! Go listen to "Feel the Thunder" by HAIM and "I Think I Love You" by Tenacious D! Both are such good songs near the end :):)
Song I used in this video:
Neopolitan (Aircheck) from Animal Crossing New Horizons

No one ever seems to notice these things that bothered me (1st movie also guys this is just the first movie I absouloutley LOVED the 2nd one) 1. Y’all know the thing where its like pretty bad to call a girl dramatic? Well in croods the father says this: “Eep stop being so..dramatic!“ 2. The bear (forgot the name) gets hurt or whatever by not listening to her FATHER not parents 3. Apparently Eep is so bad for dropping a rock on guy when guy LITERALLY HITS HER IN THE HEAD! 4. Eep could be this strong indepented not cinderellla type girl who dont need no man, well eep does need a man cause we learn she gets a crush when she first learns guy is a real person Sorry this is a long comment but these are just some things I can think of right now that always made me feel weird or annoyed/bothered me

I like how Guy in the first movie isn't shamed for being much physically weaker and not a fighter. Instead he uses his smarts to help the others and in most cases that ends up being the solution to the situation instead of using brut force. Its refreshing to see a physically strong girl with a weak but very smart guy who both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Best part about the breaking of stereotypes is that it's very clearly not pandering. All of the women are still feminine in their own ways and all of the men are still masculine in their own ways. They're all different people that are unapologeticly themselves. It really feels like a time before society before gender roles and stereotypes ever emerged.

Nothing to be proud about that. Just be normal kind well mannered people. Both men and woman should be kind and gentle to each other. Only be aggressive and angry to people when it is needed. You are only hurting yourself if you try to act tough around people/partner. Look men don't want such woman who try to be tough even though they are weak and nor do woman want weak men or aggressive men. Just be normal good people. Naturally women want men who are stronger and taller which make the man more dominant in a relationship and normal woman have no problem with it unless the man abuse his power instead of being a gentle strong person who can control his emotions. A abusive person will always be abusive wheather you try to act tough or not.

@fayizat8930 "Just be normal, kind, well mannered people." "Women like very masculine men." Ummmm....Which one is it then? Because you just simultaneously said something that made sense (be kind, polite, etc) and something that just completely reinforced stereotypes ("all women want alpha males"). Not every woman is the same, just like not every man is the same; some women prefer "weak men" and some men enjoy "girlboss" women. Anyway, this is a funny video about a Cartoon film, and if that bothers you so much, why not just... Oh I don't know... go outside and touch some grass?

I've always unapologetically loved the Croods, and I'm glad to see the movies are getting good attention like this. In this movie, the part where the dads fight and realize that words can be used as weapons, they hurt just as much as fists, that was such an effective way to explain the effect and importance of words to kids. Like it couldn't be made more obvious, and I think that also adds a lot of value to an animated movie, when they can teach little kiddies lessons like these, and make bigger kids cry over daddy issues 😂😂

I must admit that I have some mixed feelings about this movie as a sequel (the continuity errors is a huge pet peeve of mine) but this video has definitely made me see it in a new light. What I really find fascinating is that the lack of gender-norms is so naturally incorporated into the story that I for one didn’t actually think about it until you pointed it out. And that is what we want, for these behaviors to be normalized and not sensationalized.

I've always loved the Croods, and this just made me appreciate it more Eep was always one of my favorites, she was strong and independent, something that I had aspired to be as a kid. They never forced it either, like, Eep being the only girl who is strong and weird, or Eep trying to change herself to be like everyone else. She's simply herself, and doesn't need to explain herself to anyone, which inspired me as a kid :)

tbh, i think this is real life truth. when men said they think rationally while women think with emotion, in reality women are usually the more resourceful and practical with the mundane home lives, whereas men has too many "honor" or "norms" that makes them super complicated. I think we really are live in a world crafted by men.

After you pointed all that out… I think I remember why my dad hated this movie tbh (he’s homophobic + a little bit misogynistic). But boi, watching this brought the genderfluid-ness out of me.
