That was easier to tear down than I expected. I wonder if we could put a bigger LCD in there? Of course we'd have to cut out the boarder. If I had an extra faceplate or could get an aftermarket one would be fun to try. 😉

You could definitely plug a bigger LCD in there... but you'd have to remake the entire case and there's no point in that.

Thanks for this teardown, Crow! There's a fan-made "improved Super Pocket D-pad"* via reddit I wanted to try. Your video is a big help in determining how easy it will be to swap d-pads out. *I find the stock Super Pocket d-pads to be unreliable due to the lack of good center pivot post

Shouldn't be anymore difficult than a Game Boy.

Is there anything that can be done to fix the screen bleeding issues (white around the edges) whilst it's dissembled?
@TheZax859 ай бұрын
Seems simpler constructed than the EXP. Which makes it easier to repair. The battery seems very easy to change, which is super in my opinion.

Can you glue something to the middle of the dpad so it rocks instead of sinking down in the middle? Does that battery fit the Exp?
@CrowContinuum5 ай бұрын
Couldn't tell ya either thing for certain.
@icantaim4sht8365 ай бұрын
@CrowContinuum well I ended up filing down the four contact points of the dpad so it effectively made the middle post longer, eliminating false inputs. My character used to walk the wrong way at times or not respond because my thumb was pushing down the middle of the dpad. Maybe I'm the only one with this issue lol.

"Where nobody will ever see it" they know exactly what their customer base is like. I like how you are willing to sacrifice Capcom so if it goes bad you have those games on the EXP.😁

Thanks for this video my dude. I got one the other day and it has a weird white speck stuck behind the screen so looks easy to take apart. Hopefully it's not a defective screen 😅

Update, wasn't a screen defect. It was just a speck of dust. Whew haha😆

What type of memory are the built in Capcom games stored on? Is it all on a chip on the circuit board like old school games cartridges, or does it have them on rewritable type memory which could degrade over time? Great video, very interesting.
@CrowContinuum Жыл бұрын
That would be interesting, because I don't think the game is that terrible as it is, but definitely lots of room for improvement.

Hi Crow. Do you think we will be able to get a replacement battery for this in let's say eight years?
@christopherdueck3680 Жыл бұрын
Looks like a run-of-the-mill LiPo battery to me. If that's the case, I don't see why not.
@CrowContinuum Жыл бұрын
Yeah... shouldn't be an issue. And those type of batteries aren't really that expensive either.

I don't recall mine being that dusty on the inside nor have I heard much about others talking about it. It may just be a isolated incident.

@@CrowContinuum I have had the same problem with the screen since I bought (on the release date) but I didn't have any experience to disassemble. Now I can try with your video. Thank you so much!
