I made up my own, bootleg version of this a while back: split at range, move left, delete, move right twice, delete. Simple but worked for me.

How do I move an audio event to fix the timing without using Melodyne? Some DAWs have a hold over “audio blob” and move it to metered place. Basically a way too quickly fix someone like a drummer or guitar that has the wrong timing in a measure without having to cut and paste. Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hi Joe! Super cool. Love it. Same macro with a minor variation that works no matter how many Events are on the track. Works with one event, works with a hundred events. Your version is perfect if someone wants everything cleared in the current event (or the whole track is one event). Edit|Copy Edit|Select All on Tracks Edit|Delete Edit|Paste at Original Position PS: I tested this and it works if you select across a couple tracks too... Everything on the selected tracks is cleared except the selected ranges.

i have a question, how can we change the loop region in a skip region like cubase. where u can loop a certain section of your arrangement and also option to choose to skip that loop region while playing the whole song from beginning to end. it makes easy for meaningful arrangements. cubase uses different color in the same loop region. Like if the loop region is blue then if u change it to skip region it will be orange.

Love it Joe! Keep it coming! I have a question that I so far have been unable to find a work-around unless I'm missing something. In the Mixer, you have the peak indicators at the top of each level gauge that turn red when that track peaks, and then stays lit up red at that dB. While informative, is there no other way to clear those then by clicking on each and every one of them? Is there a hotkey or other method available to quickly clear either a single tracks peak indicators or all tracks? Cheers!

Hi Joe, the Softube Console 1 ecosystem is leaving a big footprint right now. Is there a macro in Studio One, that allows to add the Console 1 plugin to every first insert slot of every track with a single command? And shift any plugin that already existed one slot further down (which probably means You have to do the shifting first and the adding in slot 1 afterwards) would be a blast!!! Hi Joe, I thought I would take you up on your offer to ask questions. I am a singer/guitarist using a lot of backing tracks - Midi, MP3 etc. Often, the songs I want to do are way too short for public performances and I have to satay away from anything less than 2:15 in duration. I'd like an easy and foolproof way of making the songs longer by seamlessly repeating a chorus or repeating bridge, verse and chorus so that I can have a song that is more around the 3:33 mark. Arranger track should solve your problem instantly, you can basically treat whole song sections with everything included as a kind of "events" ;)

Hi, I'm new Studio One user, so I was wondering if there was any way to turn on the volume representation in numbers on each track, not just on master bus? This is very helpful and extremely important, for example during mixing process - to see not only the approximate volume level, but to see specific numbers in dbs. So far I have been working with another DAW where the sound representation is visible in numerical terms, which I know is in most DAWs. I found on the forum that users have been discussing this issue for several years, but it still hasn't been resolved. Is it still...?

Hi Joe. Is there an easy way to open an instance of Melodyne on an audio track at the same time as opening the piano roll on a different track? Although I use the chord track, I’d love a method of easily analysing my vocal audio in Melodyne against my piano track notes. But if I open a piano roll, even if I pin it, when I click on an audio track with Melodyne on, then it replaces the piano roll in the window.

hey Joe, is it possible to have more than one edit window open at the same time? Or to keep the content in the edit window. I don't like it when I edit midi drums, then click on another content in the main window, the content of my midi drums in the open edit view disappears... it's so annoying.

I agree that just a few macros can make a huge difference to workflow. The trick is to think about what you are doing and any sequence of actions that you repeat frequently it is worth making a macro for.

I have an issue where if I track a simple bass line on 1 track and a simple melody with a synth on another track, the bass plays fine but the synth track plays a little blip of each note on the synth track not the full note. Any idea why?😮

Hey Joe, When I cut a clip of audio, say to scoot a last note to time to grid, then I select the two clips and use the Group to rejoin them. I have to CMD +B the clip to be able to get the fade controls back at the end of the clip. And when I do the CMD+B now the clip snaps back out to the length is was before. Why is that? Whats going on? Thanks!

Recently purchased a fader port, and with that got a copy of Studio One pro. So, I figured what the hell. I'll give it a try, I usually use reaper. All of my vsts work fine except ml drums, those load in, but when I Open the program. It's a blank screen. I can click anywhere on that blank screen and get the drums to make noises, I can even get a drop down menu, but no graphics. I am even able to program drums just like normal, just can't make any adjustments within ML drums software. I've tried every possible solution that I could find online, but no luck. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a question. When I want to record from a point that's not aligned to a bar, the recording doesn't start there, instead it skips backward to the closet bar. This stinks because I want the usual behavior of S1 starting where I say. What's happening here and how do I defeat this? Example: cursor is at 100.03.01. I press record and the cursor skips back to 100.01.01. Why? Sure would appreciate an answer to this serious annoyance.

I have all tracks, FX, Busses, etc muted. And yet, I get a full track playback happening with elevated levels. I can pull down all faders and still have playback. I am on S1 7, so maybe I hit a button that put it in a weird mode. It does this for about 32 measures then fades down to whatever I have set on faders...haven't had this happen before. I do have SOLO control still, so I can solo an individual track while it's rolling. HELP!!

Hey Joe, a really game changer in SO would be to record any following sequences/steps with a separate record control button and got then automatic one corresponding new macro. I mean, a main feature inside every DAW is to record something. Why not a special functionality to record complex commands and got then a perfect macro command? Please dear PreSonus guys do this! Now! And furthermore, if you have hundreds of macros, you need subfolders for organizing them well. Those subfolders for macros are still possible in SO. But it is not possible to right-click on selected macros and send them to any existent subfolder of your choice. This is so awfully at all. Please try to import many blank macros inside SO and trying to get them fast in required subfolders. This is a nightmare! Thank you very much, Trommeltotti, Berlin Germany

My old Mpc live can do it, so i was sure that this great Daw can also. I didn´t find the command in the software, so went to youtube to look for it and bang! There it is! 😁 By the way.. I´m new in Studio One, i just bought it for the first time and i have to say.. like what i´m noticing, that i keep saying for my self with this.. Damn this software is good! Hahaa.. I ´m coming from Fl Studio, Bitwig & Ableton live, but this Studio one is something else! I´m elated! This thing just works, just the way i want it to work:)

I still very much desire the ability to link plugin parameters/ plugin mirror across tracks. Specifically for guitar amp sims primarily. For dubbing guitars. Like pro tools in group options or like Cubase offers. Some things you don’t want to just bus together or can’t for the desired effect. With Atmos mixing it’s very much needed for a more streamlined way to mix and master / glue those object based mixes. Come on Presonus. This simple yet very useful feature would be much appreciated. I won’t upgrade from 6 until it’s implemented.

Before I get the ole comment “ you can just copy and paste the channel settings “. I know. Been on s1 as my choosen primary DAW since v3. The workflow of dialing hard panned things in real time together in ways you can’t just bus together is awesome. It’s the only feature I miss from pro tools. I’m in s1 because I prefer a lot about it. Just want that feature for the love of god.

studio one for me is soon past, some projects to end, then i go back to cubase, presonus is sheep milking, wants 149 Euro for upgrade, 199 for full version, Hey i just upgraded in Mai to 6 pro for 289 Euro, hey whats on with presonus , is this fair, no, never. So i bought cubase 13 pro, cubase was my first daw about 20 years ago, and its so good now, alk problems in audio recording are solved and it sounds amazing, cubase has a mystical sound engine, some vst sound in studio one straight boring, in cubase now shimmering, deep mystical. Ya im back in cubase, a real fair company with incredible support against presonus.

wouldnt this Macro be simpler if you simply drew your range, then run Invert Selection then Delete

If you have other events on the track you want, that will most likely delete them.

That would work if you only have a single track. If you have multiple tracks, when you "Invert Selection" it selects Events across multiple tracks. The two extra commands in the macro make it work for a single track, and leaving all the other tracks untouched.
