There's some good YT videos out there demonstrating the "Racetrack" pattern which is what most of the guys I know who spray prefer. Basically if you have passes 1 - 10, you would fly only left (or only right) turns on the field working outside-->in. Pass 1 -> 10 -> 2 -> 9 -> 3 -> 8 etc... This way your turns aren't as tight while you're heavy (risking a stall), then when the load comes off you're able to turn tighter without ripping the wings off the ol' girl. This looks fun. I'm downloading it.

Now i'm no pilot, but my cleaning with a shrubbing machine has thought me to go more like a (Going from your example) 1 > 5 > 2 > 6> 3 > 7 > ect to keep even turns throughout.

Growing up in Louisiana, my first job after school was working for the local cropduster. It was one of the coolest jobs ever. Just a little interesting fact, those passes you make over the field are called "swath runs"🙂 Also, the handle you use to turn the spray on and off is called the "money handle". If you're not using that handle properly or at all, then it means you're not making money.😉

After WW2 this was the go to job for out of work ARMY AIR CORPS PILOTS..believe it or not most pilots were exposed to this craft of cropdusting when they were kids.. Many pilots could fly airplanes before they could drive a truck or car. Pilots like Chuck Yeager and others were very familiar flying biplanes before they volunteered to fly fighters and bombers.. It was a dangerous job flying cropdusters..but it paid the bills.. Today the airplanes still look like fighter planes in the cockpits basi sick and rudders. and the use turboprop engines..and they are not cheap!! I love siting in cropdusters it's like going back in time.. to fighters Yes sir!! America 🇺🇸 🐦 ❤ 🛩

IRL crop dusters would have pretty advanced GPS telling them exactly where the best places to spray are. No worries about the EFB not being realistic - it's less intuitive than today's tech

In one interview, Jorg Neumann said his favorite thing to do in the sim is crop dusting. He really did not know why. I think it had more to do with his perception of worldly worth than it did flying. He imagines he is actually crop dusting.

If you're worried about over torquing the aircraft, wouldn't it be ideal to make race track passes around the field, working from the outside tot he inside. That was you'd only be making left hand turns.
