Nathan thanks for the info about how the corn plants try to protect themselves. Interesting stuff. Crops look good!

I'm excited for you to start irrigating Nathan. I understand it's a lot of work for you but it's super cool to watch. Nobody around me does it. Looked like a great day to be on the lake for sure.

It's always nice to be able to get out on the water. I had the chance to take the family last Sunday for the first test run of the year in St. Clair and Detroit River. Crops are looking fairly good so hope the rest of the year cooperates to finish them out strong. Just received my shirt today and am happy with it. It took a little while to come to southern Ontario but did eventually arrive.

Could that possibly be Roundup Ready canola plant in the soy bean field across the road from the field that has the Mare's tail in it

My neighbour irrigated corn frequently and said you should be irrigating long before stress to get the best benefit
@BorderViewFarms2 жыл бұрын
And he's right but an we're not even a little dry right now. Adding water now won't do anything, next week might change that

I'm saying now 330 bushels to the acre on that irrigated corn. What do you subscribers think........Nathan you should ask the viewers and get some interest

Screw the corn planter, help your Dad with the roof. Have you ever tried a mobile power wash company to do the corn planter? Watched another agronomist saying they're changing nitrogen to sulfur ratio recommendation from 10:1 to 7:1. Don't know if that applies to your area.

That’s not thirsty corn. Mine looks identical, and I just tissue sampled to map out my Y drop linear irrigation plan. You check for the hormone that trigger absysic acids and hydrogen peroxide and you’ll find out exactly where your at as far as moisture is concerned. We’ll put on water with manure before the plant shows any symptom of drought, but heat can trigger a mild false alarm. It’s good to be vigilant though, if your able, never let corn get thirsty.

how long is it gunna take before the compaction goes to ''almost away'' from the corn stuff with the tracks? is it like THE NEXT TIME AFTER it's worked?? or does it need some deep working or several seasons (more than 3ish? eh that's what poped intomy head) runnin ''DIGGERS'' light cultivators, not HEAVY DISKIN and HEAVY MOVIN DEEP RIPPIN DIRT.... I theoriealize a DEEP RIPPER would shakye up the (is that the ''hardpan??'' lower than what is normally worked but roots do live down there...???) bottom levels but, what is NEEDED??? just trax, trax planter, and tread lightly from then on? or gotta massage the dirt an extra swipe in the traffic lines at least the planter lines cuz it's got the most wheels action on it's lines, right?

Sensors. Is this sheet mounting inside the bin as blocking or exterior of bin? Am thinking exterior (Always more than one way. Some better) I thought your other sensors are wired into a box mounted onto bin wall face. Am expecting you to mount boxes onto these strip sheets (half height) with box near top of strip to minimize water getting in behind and then self tap screw attach this assembly onto the bin. With a conduit line on the exterior to connect the wiring down.
@BorderViewFarms2 жыл бұрын
Something like that. The sensors on the other bin are directly mounted to the bin wallbut there is a ladder inside that bin allowing me to tighten the nut on the inside of the bin. The overhead bin doesn't have a ladder inside so I would have no way to secure them. There will sill be boxes to make all the wiring connections and mount the light
