Enormously useful. I have to keep it somewhere where I will remember it.

Awesome! Very helpful, I was going crazy on my last project trying to figure this out. I ended up cropping the video before adding to library.

Very detailed. I don't use iMovie a great deal, but; it's a nice tool to have.

Well done Gary. Could you also explain how you can put an overlay on top of the main video. Select Green Screen and move the handles to eliminate a portion of the overlay. This is a trick for cloning a person? I tend to have a problem grabbing the circles at the boundary of the green screen to alter the overlay.
@macmost3 ай бұрын
There's no much to explain. Yes, you just grab those circles at the corners. It is for if the green screen doesn't cover the whole background of the clip.

Hey Garry! I have decided to update my MacBook air from Ventura to Sequoia. External ssds are expensive can I backup time machine on my pen drive?
@macmost3 ай бұрын
Rarely are those small drives big enough for a Time Machine backup, which should ideally be 2x the size of the drive you are backing up, or much more. You don't need an SSD though. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnmTlGaBbteSnMk

I wish iMovie has the duplicate command so that the editors can duplicate the clip for edting while keep the orginal clip preserve.

Copy and paste?
@honey4xi3 ай бұрын
@@macmost It works. Copy the clip and paste into another project media for croping.
@MaiElizabeth3 ай бұрын
VN has the option to Duplicate. Although it is same as Copy-Paste, Duplicate is easily because we can duplicate and place the duplicate clip with certainty.

Request: for your likely-upcoming ipad video can you show how to disable the handwriting correction “feature” in Notes? i opted into the popup and now i am losing my mind, it’s terrible for me, and i can’t find the setting.
@macmost3 ай бұрын
In the toolbar at the bottom with the pens and colors, tap the three-dots button there and turn off "auto-refine handwriting."
@ArleyMcBlain3 ай бұрын
i just found it too haha! bonkers it’s not in Settings, Pencil - but whatever. What a relief. My ipad hopefully will stop its new habit of crashing once a day now. Gary you rock!

I use this feature a lot in my youtube videos but I use VN Video Editor because I'm lazy to edit videos on MacBook . 😂

I've never understood why Apple doesn't just make all the crop options available in both areas before and after adding it

How about an intro to gaming on a Mac?
@macmost3 ай бұрын
That's a big subject. What would be interested in learning? There's casual gaming and hard-core gaming, and everything in-between. There's the Mac App Store, web downloads, and also game systems like Steam. Retro gaming too. It is a huge topic, even just sticking to an "intro" video.
@ASP112903 ай бұрын
@@macmost I think you should give it a try. After all, it's part of the Apple Universe. Just a little bit about Mac configuration, controller vs. keyboard, and types of games. That's all.
