So this was one of the first vinyl albums I ever purchased from a record shop on lower State Street, Santa Barbara, Ca, probably in the summer of '76 - - it bears the test of time well

Great Song ,one of his best. You can clearly hear Carole King in the chorus and partially on double lead vocals. Absolut stunner, with a marvellous guitar solo by Danny Kortchmar

This is the best version of this jewel ! Crosby and Nash at his best. We will never forget them ! and Carole King at background voice ... ask for more ? Pure delight !

Also, too,I am amazed. How we stumble and trip upon love. If you do, hold onto it with all your grip. Because it will be all the good you will ever be priviledged to have known. Believe me

First rain of winter First fall from grace It's my first hollow echo In the halls of praise How could Samson I thought he was blind as a bat How cold he have torn down The temples like that And how could little Caesar How could he know whereof he spoke When all of his wheels are turning him into a joke It's to be noted that Crosby took veiled swipes at both Neil Young (‘Samson’) and Stephen Stills (‘Little Caesar’).

Fell in love with the best woman I ever had--when this album was out--mind works by association--this was the 1st album I ever recorded on casette tape--by the time I was a junior in college--had people asking me would I please do one for them...wish I had continued...who know?-I could been a "Leigh Harris"

Beautiful song. This is from their 1975 album "Wind On The Water". I remember bass player Leland Sklar saying that Dan Kortchmar performed an electric guitar solo on this track. That is incorrect. According to Wikipedia, here is the line-up for this song... David Crosby - Electric Guitar (solo) & Vocals Graham Nash - Vocals & Hammond Organ Craig Doerge - Electric Piano Carole King - Acoustic Piano Leland Sklar - Bass Guitar Russ Kunkel - Drums

It appears wiki is wrong. I pulled out the LP I bought all those years ago and the inner sleeve lists the musicians on all tracks. Drums Russ Kunkel, Bass Leland Sklar, electric piano Craig Doerge, acoustic piano Carole King, electric guitar Danny Kootch, electric guitar David Crosby, additional vocals Carole King, Crosby and Nash. Organ Graham Nash. I’m quite sure Kootch played that great solo. Crosby rarely played solos.

Craig Deorge is playing electric piano, a great keyboardist and pianist on so many iconic 70s albums.

Neil Young tells us a little about this song in his book Special Deluxe. A pity he had to quit the project.
