My husband went to Vietnam in 1971! He made it home, but never the same young man! God Bless all Veterans of that awful war!

Most are different and they are heroes. I don’t believe in the war but I believe in our soldiers who fight for America but our government makes them fight for control of drugs,oil,and money. I back our soldiers who actually care about our country.

@@patemccullough6025 sorry to hear. To much of that. I had a friend from my childhood who tried death by cop then after they let him out he crashed his motorcycle at least that’s what it sounded like to me he was a vet.

My father fought in WWll in England and Germany. My grandmother told me he was never the same when he came home. He very rarely spoke about it, other than while in England, he thought about going to a movie but didn’t. That choice saved his life; the theatre was bombed. He came home from Germany with a German officer’s handgun. EVERY war is awful.

I also graduated in 1972 but can't recall a class song. This is a great choice. Personally, I always think of Schools Out by Alice Cooper.

They are all amazing but the harmony that Crosby finds is the thing that always stands out in these songs. I honestly believe that he had the most singular feel for harmony of all time.

Yeah, sure. Harmonies from The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Bee Gees, and Simon/Garfunkle make Crosby look like an amateur. And Graham Nash was by far the superior singer in Crosby Stills and Nash.

I got to eee these guys at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre outside of Birmingham Al. Graham was bare footed thru the whole show. I started listening to their music when I was 13 in the early 70s so that was a real treat!

I'd forgotten they played matching Martin D45 guitars. And they made the most of them. Very expensive, but handmade American guitars are still best - far superior to imported guitars of today.

It's still around, just not on commercial radio. These days it's done under different styles of Bluegrass, in particular CaliGrass, which is the same kind of singer/songwriter music. Listen to the Brothers Comatose or similar bands. It's out there, but you have to listen for it.

Wow, I first heard this when I was 8. And thought that was pretty important & hoped my parents will look after me. Since then I've grown up, raised my kids, and now watch them guide their kids with a similar approach I used with them. 50+ years on the song is just as relevant/wise as when I first heard it.
