Thanks! That is the exact video I needed to see! I will be transporting my R1 under the seat of a 400cc scooter over 1,100 miles here in a few weeks, and knew there had to be a way to make it shorter so it would fit under the seat. :-) Taking those 2 pins "out" and separating the 2 halves will do just fine. I will be placing medical Coban wrap around each of the 2 halves to keep the parts from falling out, then wrapping all that up in a towel to keep things from getting overly scarred up.

@rustbeltairgun87182 жыл бұрын
If you have reached the 3000 shot maintenance cycle, I recommend using the Crosman specified RMCOIL lube. My understanding of Pellgun oil is it is intended to lubricate the inner workings of a CO2 Powered Air Gun. That is why Crosman specifies to put a drop on the tip of each CO2 Cartridge, before insertion into the air gun.
@iamzuijin13622 жыл бұрын

@trevorjameson32132 жыл бұрын
You don't HAVE to use that special oil. Just use the regular Crosman Pellgun Oil, it won't hurt anything. The green plunger inside of the DPMS is made of the same material as the CO2 seals, which require pell gun oil. So you're good to go with the pell gun oil. I don't know why they say to use that other stuff, it's not necessary. Just don't use firearm gun oil, or 3 in 1 oil. You may also use a silicone lubricant if you want, that's safe too. Also I wouldn't wait until 3000 shots to take it apart and lube it. I've noticed the internal plunger being dry after about 20 mags or 500 shots. So I lube mine about ever 500 shots. Wipe down the parts, and reapply the oil.

I usually clean the rifle as well bc it does get pretty dirty from either paint rub off from the bolt cycling and the buffer tube assembly gets really really grimy over use. I usually lubricate slightly after cleaning up grime just to make the moving parts move more freely. Don't use actual firearms lubricant. Use this lube or pel gun oil. Don't use alot a little bit goes pretty far. I usually lubricate all rubber peaces and where there is any metal on metal or plastic on plastic. Makes the gun run smoothly and it also can increase the cycle rate of fire I've found.

I take immaculate care of mine, I use it as a training aid to save me time and money. I've noticed that the seals get dry much sooner than 3,000 rounds. I tend to wipe everything down and lube all the seals and contact points every 2 mags (or roughly 300 shots). I had my piston seal rupture last month, got a new "action assembly" (BCG) from Crosman. Installed it December 22nd. Proceeded to use it as ordinary--never on full auto, never more than 6 shots at a time, nothing that would stress it out. Every 200-300 shots I wiped it all down, oiled it all up and continued. I got to 2,073 shots today and had my piston seal rupture again. Any idea what may be causing this? I don't use it as a toy, I use it as a training aid so it does not get over-used or abused at all--it gets treated better than my real guns. I use Crosman oil and CO2.

You can warp the piercing gaskets in the magazine, if you leave the CO2 cartridges in, for more than 24 hours. The warped piercing gaskets will leak CO2, when new cartridges are installed. Store the magazine in a warm (room temperature) room for a day, without CO2 cartridges installed. See if the piercing gaskets return back to their normal shape.

Sorry to hear, if still under warranty period, I would call Crosman support to see of they can help (800-7AIRGUN (724-7486)). They have always been super helpful when I have called.

Just got my crosman A4-p today. Loaded everything up. Fired it about 5 shots Worked great. I opened the receiver just to see how it worked then put the pin back in place with no issues. Tried gun again and it didn't work. I took the CO2 cartridge out and it was obviously still very full. Then I put in a new one and it still didn't work. Do you have any idea what might be wrong? Ugh

Sorry, I did not have this issue after my tear down and reassembly. I would double check assembly per the manual. In addition, make sure the magazine is properly seated.
