Excellent, I don't think I could stomach another unboxing. Solid info, good job! I am ordering a 2400KT and doing a paintball tank in the stock and give the gun a proper going over. I have a small lathe and pretty complete garage machine shop. Give me a yell if want to do any collaborations! Da Rat

Thanks for commenting This is a common issue.The fix is simple but not easy.What I do is drill the head of the screw off with a 7/64 bit.I drill enough to weaken the head of the screw,so the breach is removed.There is usually enough of the screw shaft left to grip with chanel-lock pliers to remove it.Crosman has replacement screws,I have also sourced them locally 4-48x1/4.The ones i get locally have to be modded(the heads are ground and slotted) to fit.I flat top my own valve and ..........

Very interesting... I've never seen a 2240,or2250 with the Cocking piece like the old 1377/1322 had. However I did see a Crosman 180 with it!

thoes new hammers from crosman are really nice with the cut out cause its a bit lighter and does add some extra power as well , due to the timming being altered, ihave also made that style like theirs and take it a step above as well with 2 extra cut outs and may end up doing 3 more to the hammer to lighten it up more, this will allow more varations in the timming cycle and not needing to use such heavy hammer springs and increase the shot count and get more speed at the same time

From watching some of your videos i can see that you are extremly knowledgable about the crosman air guns and i would like to know if there is anyway i can remove the small breech screw on the 1377c (the hex headed one by the tip of the bolt when it is cocked) if that screw is stripped and overly tightened? I want to put a flat topped piston and valve in along with a heavier hammer spring and 18in .177 barrel, do you know where i can get those parts as well? Thsnk you, Zaqk

drill bit fits perfect and tight. just got to figure length.
@AIRGUNSNIRVANA7 жыл бұрын
I took apart a 760 I forgot I had. Check that the drill bit/pin will fit the notch in the bolt sliding mechanism. If that's good I would super glue the bit in the hammer, then slide it in the tube and place the bolt on top of the tube to get how long it needs to be.

got the piston from Crosmods.Most of my barrels I have got from Crosman parts Dept. in 24" and cut and crowned them.I have also ordered custom length from BRYAN & ASSOCIATES.Hammer spring True Value Hardware ( #4U it's 040 gauge 2 1/8"x5/16"). Hope this helps.anything more let me know. Cheers

My question How do you get the hammer assembly out of 1377 its the old type that cocks in the rear.. pre 78 model.. want to rebuild it for handdown to grandkids..
@AIRGUNSNIRVANA4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. Remove the screw at the rear of the breach, and one at the rear of grip. Then the hammer assembly can be removed from the gun. Hope this helps.

Thanks for commenting. Never had that issue. I am making some assumptions( and this is how I would go about doing it) that, the pump tube is completely stripped down, no grip, no breech, no valve. With the pump tube wrapped in a leather work glove clamped gently-ish in a vise. I would slide wooden dowel down the pump end until it came in contact with the hammer assembly. I would compress the hammer spring till it bottomed out , then strike the dowel with a hammer firm-ish. Hope this helps. Let me know...

Have you ever modified a Crosman 150/157 hammer assembly. My 60 year old gun seems to have a weakened hammer spring. I do not know how one could take the hammer assembly apart and then reassemble it without damage. I would like to i crease the strength of the hammer spring by either replacing it or stretching it back out.

Thanks for commenting. I wish I had some knowledge to send your way, but any words I would say would be guessing on my part. When I first started mooding my airguns I contacted Bryan & Associates for this type of problem, but the are no longer in business. Their inventory of old Crosman parts was bought by www.bakerairguns.com they would be my goto now. Hope this helps. Cheers

I doubt any of those would fit my variant one model 160 I restored in my videos. The dry film lube is probably tin plating. Looks like what we did to pistons in the shop.

can you tell me where or what the best spring i can do d in a hardware store to replace the stock one in my 2289 I am about to mod with a Alchemy Air high power pumper valve? is there a particular spring readily available at ho e deoot per say that I could get cheap and modify if necessary to avoid having to opay far more to a modding company?

Thanks for commenting. I had to source my springs from True-Value, Home-Depot didn't have any. Numbers as follows. Very heavy spring # 44u 3-1/4" x 5/16" Dia. 047 wire gauge. Heavy spring #4 u 2-1/8" x 5/16" Dia. 040 wire gauge. Slightly heaver than stock # 137u 2-1/2 "x 9/32" Dia. 032 wire gauge. I found that The lightest spring to fully dump the valve, at the desired number of pumps gives best trigger pull. A supper heavy spring makes the trigger harder to pull. I hope you have fun experimenting with lengths and such, to find what works best for you. if I can help further let me know Cheers

Thanks so much for the very valuable information sir. I've been told a lot of various things, and I happen to have the older style 1389 that a friend gave me that has the exact same hammer and spring/cocking mechanism as you show in this video's still shot. Ide like to try and mod that gun to, but it has that old style steel breech from the early 90's that uses the funny flip-up loading mechanism where it has a plastic sleeve inside the lil part that flips up. .. Well that plastic sleeve that both holds and seals the .177 pellet into that part has dry rotted and broken... ( really seemed like a very poor design in the first place to me, and I'm hoping I can replace that breech entirely with a new modern steel breech... but I don't know if the transfer port and whatnot will match up.. I may try it today before I reassemble my newer model 2289 with the new valve and other parts I ordered for it from Alchemy Air works)... Once again thanks for making such great and informative videos for all us air gun lovers! Rock on dude!!!

I have uploaded a new video to my KZbin Channel: Eagle View HD, it is titled “HAMMER SPRING ADJUSTMENT ON CROSMAN 150 OR CROSMAN 157”. It shows how to increase the hammer spring tension without having to disassemble the Hammer Assembly. My Crosman 150 had low CO2 output before I came up with this easy fix. Probably after 60 years of being compressed somewhat, the hammer spring lost some tension. This method slightly increases the spring tension which causes the exhaust valve to open just a little more, thereby allowing more CO2 to enter the breech and propel the pellet with more force. It definitely worked with my Crosman 150, and hopefully will work with yours. Nevertheless, the modification is benign and can be easily reversed.

reworking a crosman 760 pumpmaster lost hammer pin. where to find one?
@AIRGUNSNIRVANA7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. I first try and source parts from Crosman "800-724-7486". They only take phone orders but are good people and very helpful, and they are usually the cheapest. If not them, then it's Google time. I haven't modded a 760 so I can't say for sure it will work. But the hammer pin looks similar to the 1377, a cut down drill bit may work. I would be interested to know the final fix. Cheers
