Thanks for the video! I am now 57, but bought my 1377 in 1984 (SN# 884xxxxxx). I have killed more rabbits, birds, and squirrels with that than all of my other guns combined. My 1377 stopped making pressure in the later 90's and I took it apart, but internet wasn't around yet and I didn't know where to get parts. Luckily, I kept everything in a sectioned Plano case for all this time. I recently saw a post about the 1377 on Airgun Forums, so I searched and found the parts I needed on eBay. My gun is completely rust free and in excellent condition. Now it is also making great power and I can't stop shooting it. I have also went ahead and bought her some custom walnut furniture, fancy screws, and fiber optics sights because my eyes are crap nowadays.

I like the Crosman 1377 airgun model that has the magnetic bolt that allowed you to shoot B•B's. I want to replace the barrel with a smooth bore barrel for better accuracy and more velocity !

I happen to have purchased mine in 1984. Same model and box like you have. Still accurate and I added a Red Dot (Crossman) recently. Very accurate at 10 to 25 yards. Great Air Gun.

I am 74 years old and have had a long history with these guns. I grew up in the 1950’s and 60’s. My constant companion was an old Daisy BB gun. I have no idea what model it was or where it ended up. But I must have shot millions of BB’s. I bought a 1377 in 1978 as a grown man. I still have it. It’s well worn and in need of a rebuild. I had an older brother that passed away in 2000. He was always into shooting. While going through his things I discovered a Crosman 760 Pumpmaster, a Gamo spring piston .177 rifle and a 1377 made in 1997. It is in perfect condition and still shoots just fine. It has the plastic breech. I recently purchased a new 1377 and have spent way too much money moding it. (Stay away from Buck Rail! 😂😂) The new gun is nowhere near the quality of the older guns. It’s still fun though. They’re great guns.

I am 60y, new into air guns and I am doing 5m Airsoft-silencer-gel-target indoor practice. Thinking about doing the same with pallets I need to eliminate "Pufff- tuck!" effect. If I have .177 with the silencer and very heavy pallets would that help? (my home is all about glass sliding doors, mirror walls, cameras..)

Really great video, very interesting history on that model. And man I can tell you really used that old one a LOT, by the color being worn off the barrel and cylinder! That's a nice piece, it's great that you've kept it all these years. I have an old Benjamin HB17, I think I got it around '83 or '84, I was 17 at the time and really enjoyed it for many years. Still have it and it still works fine, but like yours, the color is worn off pretty good and the pump handle is a little sloppy now.

All he did was find a piece of 1/4" seamless tubing and crown both ends and drill a hole for the air port. I think he had to turn down the ends a little to make it fit. It might be possible to order a 12 inch piece of 25/20 barrel liner from Brownells and use that for a barrel.

@@MilsurpGarage well the trigger needed some fixing, and overall this thing is just skewed to a degree I can't get the iron sights to work properly (which seems to be a common theme on the 1377 as of forum discussions, and even with the model I got as a replacement). If they could fix the sights, it would be a nice gun actually. Shoots hole in hole, just some inches to the side with the back sight in extreme position. For that price point, I can get a beat up FWB mod. 65 and that one runs circles around the Crosman in every single aspect you could come up with. The 1377 will stay in the collection as a testament to american made air gun standards though 😄(just kidding...!).

No...the breech is plastic....its an early phase 2 but yeah, that magnet was cool back in the day to stop the BB from just rolling down the barrel. They cancelled the BB recommendation right after this.
