I propose an excellent competitive variant, minimum 4 participants, although the ideal would be 6 or more. Two teams. The 5x5 grid should be ALWAYS set up (smaller grids would remove margins of error and interest in the game). The objective of each team is to place 5 alphanumeric cards on the grid. The first team to do so automatically WINS the game. 1) When forming the grid, to the left of the letters A, B, C, D and E and above the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 another ten word cards are placed, thus revealing 20 words in the entire grid. 2) The Field team will play with the ten outer words of the grid: the left and the upper ones. The City team with the ten inner words of the grid: the right and the lower. 3) Two LEADERS are assigned, one for each team, who will be the only ones who will have access to the alphanumeric combination cards (A5; D3; etc). Leaders will hold their roles until one team wins the game. 4) The alphanumeric combination cards are shuffled and each leader takes a different card and keeps it face down, without revealing it. Depending on the combination that corresponds to them, they give their clues to their partners as soon as the clock starts running (Each one will say a word for their team try to guess the combination). 5) Each team deliberates, without any additional intervention from the leader, about what they think is the correct combination. 6) When a team, whether from the Field or from the City, believes they have found the exact alphanumeric combination for their team, they shout: "Cross clues!". At this point, BOTH TEAMS STOP deliberation. 7) When everyone has silenced, a member of the team that stopped play calls out what combination they think is correct. Then, their leader turns over the alphanumeric card and it is discovered if they were correct or not. 8) If they were correct, their leader takes the alphanumeric card and places it on the grid as a won card. If they were not correct, the other leader takes that same card and places it on the grid as a card won by his team. To distinguish which grid cards each team won, proceed as follows: If the team that wins the card is the Field team, its leader places the alphanumeric card inside the grid in a diamond position. If the team that wins the card is that of the City, its leader places the alphanumeric card in a cubic position, aligned with the grid. (This is for the fact that the game does not bring two cards of different colors for each alphanumeric combination). 9) If the time has run out and neither team has said: "Cross Clues!" The time is over for all the deliberatives. Now it is up to the leaders to try to guess what the rival team's combination was. Both will say what they think is the alphanumeric card that the other leader has. The clock will not be set for them, since they had heard the rival track and they had time for analysis while the deliberatives discussed. If ONE leader is correct, he takes his opponent's card and places it on the grid as a point for his team. If both leaders or neither leader is correct, no card is placed on the grid. The fact that if they both get it right they don't score is very interesting, because it can transform the leader into a hero of his team. For example, if the City team already had 4 won cards on the grid and its leader has matched the alphanumeric card of the Field leader, the only hope remains that the Field leader also matches the City leader's card and keep hIs team alive by depriving the rival of the ultimate score to win the game. An additional consideration that the leader has when trying to guess the opponent's card is that, in addition to discarding the combinations that are already placed on the grid, he will also discard the combination revealed on his own card. 10) If the clues turn out to be difficult, and the deliberators of both teams agree, they can resolve that the issue be resolved directly by the leaders, even if there is still time for analysis. In this case, one of the members of the team that renounce, audibly communicates to the other team: "WE RENOUNCE", if the other team accepts, the deal is done and the game goes on to what is explained in point 9. 11) To move on to a new round, all the alphanumeric cards that are not placed on the grid are taken, shuffled, and each leader chooses an alphanumeric card again. This can cause a leader to be challenged to re-hint for a combo that has already come up in the game. In this case, and as is the rules, he will not be able to repeat the clue, so he will have to sharpen his ingenuity even more to find a new clue to offer his team. Sorry for some translation mistakes. I create this for boost the game and I hope you and your friends enjoy this variation. Hugs.

Thanks for calling teachers superheroes. ❤️ Every teacher in Australia really needs to hear this now as we’ve recently been portrayed as villains for questioning having Term 2 start normally this week with full classrooms. We’re not allowed to wear masks or any other gear, socially distancing rules have been removed for classrooms (but nowhere else), and both parties are angrily telling us to “get back to work” when we never left, contributing to that “lazy teacher” stereotype that so many people want to believe. (We did just have our normal unpaid end-of-term break, which came on the heels of spending nights and weekends making online resources for Term 2, only to be told during the break that schools were going to carry on normally.) With your one kind remark, you’ve made the two teachers in this household feel a little less alone in a world that seems to think we’re refusing to do our bit or are overreacting. Thank you so much.

Isn't the point that all players are clue givers at the same time?
