Well Done, Jess. You already looked tired at 100 miles. To persevere as you did was very impressive. Driving 1,000 miles in a car or truck is beyond most people's capabilities, so your commitment and endurance are well noted.

Hats off. Iron butt in February you really wanted to test your limits. As some one who ride all year long I know the pain and I felt it through the your face expressions, been there 😂. Awesome trip and can't wait for the full review!

Yo Jess, year round Rider here. I feel your pain. I'm old school and probably a little senile but I have refused to go with heated gear just because of electrical malfunction possibilities. I wear all the high-tech layering systems. Wind shear/ stopper gear is Heaven sent. Easily seen the pain in your face. You are my SuperHero , been there done that. non-riders have no idea. You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda Valkyrie/ Goldwing/Fury. Keep the Shiny Side Up.

Congratulations on doing your first IBA ride. I have watched you do one or two others and thought that you had submitted them, you should have! My only recommendation is that if you are tired before you start, DON'T START! I understand that you wanted to get home, but being tired, cold, and losing focus are all items that can lead to disaster. I enjoy your content too much for something to happen to you!

Did 650 on a raked rigid 48 pan in the 70's, me 20's. 1989, same bike, 1500 mile, 3 day trip, me 40. Parked it when we got back and literally haven't started it since. Me 70's now, Ultra Classic. There's a surprise. Wow, you put on some impressive miles, and make your adventures interesting for your followers. Thanks.

I felt your pain. I had a naked BMW R1200R for a decade. London and back for me is 460 miles and the last time I did it I nearly froze to death going home in the early hours In December. Swearing out loud in the darkness I rode faster and faster just to get the ordeal over. When I got in it took me two hours to get warm enough to sleep and I had just about every duvet in the house on my bed. Last year I swapped my bike for a 1250RT. Big fairing, big windscreen, heated grips, heated seat. Also bought a keis heated vest. Talk about a transformation! I now tackle winter trips with pleasure.

Great video Jess….and great going…I remember a long trip I took many years ago. It was sometime after March of 1984. The Billy Joel single The Longest Time was playing on the radio. It played a lot on this trip. I had a job interview in Northern Calif and I lived close to Los Angeles. Nope, didn’t take the job..It’s about a 440 mile one way trip. I drove up, had the interview and returned the same day. It was close to 900 miles. I didn’t do this on a bike though. I was in a fairly new 1984 Nissan pickup. I was beat after that trip, so I can’t imagine how you’d feel after doing 1000 miles on a bike even as well built as a Harley Davidson Road Glide..Great going though, and keep the videos coming…👍

Great job, Jess! One tip for cold: layers. I am literally never cold on my challenger or my r1250rt (yes, good windshield also helps tremendously) when I wear tiny lamb wool long sleeves as my first layer. Then hiking long sleeve such as those from freeze out company. I have either regular fleece vest or hear powered vest. Most of the time fleece vest is enough. And on top of that Moto jacket with inside jacket of course. I even have $250 Sedicci, nothing fancy What also gives me HUGE difference is Klim balaclava. Tried a few but only Klim balaclava is truly wind proof 100% When it comes to gloves, anything with lamb wool inside and leather outside would be the best choice

Respect girl! I did 800 miles once in a day on my dresser. Electra glide many moons ago in my 30s. Where I could literally wake up the next morning and not feel too much pain… not so today. I try to stay off the freeway whenever I travel two-lane highway is the way I like to cross country. Two 300 miles a day max. Plus you just get to see more of the country. I’ve been caught in the snow too many times I live in Colorado. No fun. I don’t have any electric gear but if I know it’s gonna snow I just don’t ride. Stay safe girl. Don’t push it too hard. We are still gonna love you.

Jess, I bought a 24 RoadGlide Jan. 30 2024, the entertainment system had to be updated before delivery, then once again, yesterday 2/26/24... this second update all seems good and even the volume seems better. I was told by the service GM that this system is so new that it requires these update, and not repairs, therefore there is no recall on them. The GM, stated that from what they were told by HD this should be the last system update required. Congratulations on the Iron Butt.not easy, especially in sketchy weather... Stay safe ...

Brrrr!🥶 My girlfriend (who is now my wife) on her 1991 Vulcan 750 and me on my 1982 KZ1100A did an Iron Butt from Woodland Park, CO to Greencastle, IN in early June 1995. Started out with frost on the road, then later in the day heat, a tornado in Kansas, and later rush hour in St Louis, then later a Hugh thunderstorm with blinding rain. We were glad when it was done at the end of the day.

I do with my friend Jean-Marc a Irun butt from South off the Border (South/North Carolina) to Montréal (Canada) on march, we come back to Miami (Florida). We use 95, 66, 17, 81, 87 to Canada border. 1608 km full north, we stopped at Montréal because a lot of snow and ice on the road. We take the road to Québec city a next day. It's a long way... we weared snowmobile dress near Albany. I really understand what you talking about, how much it's tough. Me on a Low Rider 100th 2003 black/grey and Marc on a Fat Boy. After that I bought a Road Glide Ultra 2017 two tone and Marc a FLHTK all black.

Hi Jess, Iron butt #3! You are amazing. The bike is amazing minus the pitfalls that you mentioned. If I were the owner of Harley I'd give you that baby and do your recommended upgrades for free. Just saying... You never mentioned the seat comfort. I'm assuming that means it's amazing. I felt so sorry for you not having the tunes, but especially the heated gear not working. How you rode though it just boggles my mind. Well by now after looking at the date from then until today I sure hope that you've thawed out, gotten and ton of rest, and worked out the kinks. Congratulations to you and I admire your riding spirit!

Congrats on the Iron Butt, I feel your pain with riding in the cold. Back in November 1979 I rode my Harley Shovelhead from North Carolina to El Paso Texas in 5 days. At that time the speed limit was 55 MPH, it was hell at times. Rained every mile from New Orleans to Houston and I was frozen and wet as there was no heated gear at that time.

My heart sank hearing about your heated gear issue. Good on you for the iron butt. I hope I don’t sound snarky, but I’m surprised you didn’t find some gas station somewhere with a fuse set you could buy to get your heated gear going again. I had that same thing happen to me on a cross country trip and was able to find a fuse set pack at a Qwik Stop and get my gear working again. That kind of cold is miserable. Glad you made is safely.
