I came to Christ in 99', so CM holds a special place in my heart. CM, along with Corey Red and Precise, ADF, New Breed, Raiderz of the Lost, and a few others were instrumental in my early years of walking with Christ. Lampmode and Humble Beast are carrying that flame today. CM was criticized back in the day for being 'too clean', and not relating to the streets, but I thank God for their devotion and conviction to the Gospel.

I meet these men in '97 in south florida , and the lyrics that God spoke through them still resonate in my mind till today almost 20 years later . God used these men to reach many young people in my day . Tears come to my eyes every time i remember the many times God used these brothers lyrics to help me when I need of encouragement.

These brotha's are a positive light. I knew that I didn't want to listen to secular rap as a Christian, so I chose to sample their music back in the late 90's, and I was hooked from the start. They have talent, they drop beats, and their lyrics can reach young people like me, so I give them my 100% full support...

12:20... I've listened to a lot of Cross Movement in my time. I would say Cross Movement had just as much "Jesus" in their music as any other genre of gospel music. People were against Cross Movement because they didn't have enough "Church" in their music. I think sometimes, "It's good to have more *Jesus* than *Church* when spreading the *Gospel* of Jesus Christ".

Yeah I thought that their lyrics would be dated or corny sounding but I did notice that the music had alot of Jesus and scripture laced up in it and I still was bobbing my head to it.

Wow its awesome to see Cross Movements. My father is not a christian but has always liked their music and respects. I love where christian hip hop is going but the original christian hip hop had a pureness to it. From Crossmovement to Hazakim to Tunnel Ratz to Gospel Gangstaz.

They may have been criticized for a lot of things, but they brought something to Christian rap and to all Christian based genre's that wasnt there. They taught a lot of theology in their music, even more than other artists in music genre's that were considered more inspired than rap. Without them the generation they hit may not have ever gotten to that level of understanding. it was the closest many of us would ever come to stuff taught in seminary that wasnt frequent in Sunday morning sermons

I am super blessed to see these young men pursue holiness that I have to let them know that they are so on their way to receiving what is described in Hebrews 11:40..... We are the ones in the final lap of the race that will receive the prize for the entire body of Christ. We are sealed by the mighty hand of YAHWEH who is in control of the affairs of men everywhere!!!!

Straight up wisdom being preached here from the experiences God granted them to go through. These guys need to do a conference or something similar to what Humble Beast did recently at their Canvas Conference. Their knowledge alone is enough to edify the Church and anyone in the Church who is called or decides to create art for The Lord.

Yo I like what Ambassador said about the difference in the Philosophy. He is hitting the core issue. But I would go further that it is a difference in doctrines that are derived from different denominations. With different denominations there will be differences. But what does the bible say about those that say they are of God but do not bring the doctrine of Christ and the doctrine of the apostles? It says mark them and avoid them. It says do not bid them godspeed. This has been a conflict for centuries. Patriarchs like William Tyndale and Martin Luther the theologian dealt with the same thing and died for defending the faith. Imprisoned for defending the faith. Beaten for defending the faith. Even in the quote on quote Christian community. My brothers and sisters of the faith it goes deeper than hip hop. I love rhyming. I love producing. But one of the most important and one of the most powerful things that we can do is rightfully devide the word of truth and live the truth and move in ministry in truth(Holy Spirit).

The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler's map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass, the soldier's sword and the Christian's character. Here paradise is restored, heaven opened and the gates of hell disclosed. Christ is its grand object, our good is its design and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently, and prayerfully. It is given you in life and will be opened in the judgment and will be remembered forever. It involves the highest responsibility, will reward the greatest labor, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents. -Author Unknown kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2erg2qInd-Ne5Y Playlist to encourage Christians in their walk, courtesy of the Holy Spirit.

Don't be deceived by saying "hip hop" is inherently sinful.. Humans are sinful. Hip hop is a tool which can be used for good or bad. Hip hop is amoral. It's no different than any other "music". It's instruments, drums, and lyrics.

Sis, simply put..1 Chronicles 25 records David assigning SKILLED musicians to perform the musical duties in the temple. Christian Hip Hop inherently implies unskilled artists/ or non-artists, who are not truly familiar with the Hip Hop culture and are using the rap "sound" as some sort of youth outreach gimmick. That's exactly what it was to me before I "mistakenly" was introduced to Da Truth like 11 years ago. That was the first time I ever heard a RAPPER, that would be accepted skill wise in the rap community at large, that used his music to lift up Jesus. Think back and you may remember non rappers trying to do something for the kids at church and recording horrible verses and tracks to "reach" the kids. I have never seen that done on instruments but it was definitely done with rap. Now guys don't want you trying to tell them how they are supposed to dress, use slang, what beats they are supposed to have etc. because of their faith. You will be boxed in with unspoken rules depending on the genre you are assigned to. Of course unsaved rappers don't care, they can do whatever they want either way.
