Hey there! This video presents ideas and methods intended to help new and experienced stitchers find new methods of doing their craft. There is no right or wrong way to be creative or make art. If this works for you, I'm glad it helped! If you have questions, please ask! If you don't like this method, please move on. These comments are not a place to tell others what the "correct" way may or may not be.

Milesy: I have a question about the Light Effects DMC Thread.....I doing a Christmas full coverage and using for the most part the DMC cotton floss but my picture is that it has snow areas and I wanted your suggestion should I use the tent stitch with both the cotton and light effects using the loop start (the rest of the picture is full cross stitch) or should I attempt the light effects using the full cross? I hope this makes sense......thanks for any suggestions.

I'm finding your second method helpful- but if it calls for a godl metallic thread, what regular DMC color floss would you blend with?

The gold will have an E-number on it. There's a corresponding six-strand number that's more or less the same shade. The same is true for their satin line.

I tend to use it the first way, it drives me up the wall and it knots easier but it shines brighter or I use beads instead 😉

Guys, just use some glue on a stick instead of a "thread haven" whatever that is. Works too.

A lot of it comes down to practise. Hopefully this can give you a starting point, but it's also one I'd like to re-do to expand a little better.
