i am from the UK and have been following your training videos for a while now. Your attention to detail and patience - your feel for each horse and your knowing and experience of what is required are fascinating to watch. Each horse is like a canvas for your artistry to reveal itself! When you are riding on your own it must be a deep meditation for you both. And your commentaries just show how present you are. . i find them relaxing 😊

So true. I used to take my jumpers to team penning events. What a blast! The really cowboys were so helpful to us English riders and the horses seemed to catch on quick that they could chase those critters. Even the ones that had never seen a cow before caught on fast. Talk about totally different disciplines, but really helped build our relationships with our horses.

I always trail ride and ride hills with my competition horses. It builds muscle and coordination. They love trail riding to keep their minds right. I also do obstacles.

Western pleasure and equitation as well as multiple speed events. She was exceptional good at barrels and had I been running in the big shows rather than country shows for ribbons she would have been in the money (based on times). These events were very picky about the distance of the barrels and the condition of the arena being the same as the big money events. I loved it!

Watching your videos has been so helpful for me, and also reassuring when I come across a training issue (with myself , not just my horse!) As you mentioned the lifting of their head in the transition upwards ,this is something my horse does in transitions from trot to canter. Trot seems to be her "natural" gait, canter has always been harder. I can swing the shoulders in trot and canter easily enough but it seems to be the initial strike off that is the weakness. I look forward to seeing you progress with this horse and some excersises that might help me!

Thank you for this interesting video. Enjoyed your explanation on lowering the nose . Never knew that a horse has left and right side dominance. But it is interesting the way you work to bring balance .
