Crossbone Isle | Golden Sun Walkthrough "24/27" (No Commentary)

- Story -
In this part, we arrive on Crossbone Isle and maneuver through all the floors while solving their puzzles and gathering a ton of new gear. Along the way we encounter the final Djinn in the game, the Venus Djinn, Bane. Once we reach the bottom, we take on the secret superboss of the game, Deadbeard. After defeating Deadbeard, we return to the Suhalla Desert and take on the Tempest Lizard. The Tempest Lizard is exactly the same as the Storm Lizard, except that it's HP and stats are slightly higher.

Crossbone Isle is entirely optional but is required if you want Bane, the final Venus Djinn.
The majority of Weapons and Armor found in this dungeon is cursed and unusable normally. Luckily the Cleric's Ring is also found here, which allows the wearer to use Cursed Weaponry without the cursed effects.

Weakness: Earth
Deadbeard's Attacks:
Attack (Common) - A standard physical attack that hits one party member.
Freeze Prism (Common) - A Psynergy spell that deals massive Water based damage to all party members.
Break (Common) - A Psynergy spell that removes all positive stat changes (buffs) from all party members.
Impact (Uncommon) - A Psynergy spell that raises Deadbeard's attack power.
Ward (Uncommon) - A Psynergy spell that raises all of Deadbeard's elemental resistances.
Inferno (Uncommon) - A Psynergy spell that deals massive Fire based damage to all party members.
Guard (Rare) - A Psynergy spell that raises Deadbeard's defense.
Spark Plasma (Rare) - A Psynergy spell that deals massive Wind based damage to all party members.

2 days ago I picked up an old saved file of golden sun, which I had not played in a while. And what are the odds that I find myself looking for a walkthrough of cross bone isle and find that this video had been posted less than a day ago. It’s good to see that I’m not the only person replaying this amazing game. Keep doing a great job!

on my first playthrough, my dad told me about Crossbone Isle. He’s a jokester who talks about pirates and stuff, so I thought he was joking. I decided to stay in the pink tornado as a joke, and when I actually ended up on crossbone isle, I was so shocked! I beat it first try no walkthrough, but this is my third time playing after a few years so I went to go watch this. So much love to this game. ❤️

Fun fact: Crossbone isle actually exists on The Lost Age map, since they reused the old Golden Sun map(without actually having villages, caves accessible). If you no clip at the world map from around the snow area(Prox locality) and keep heading left, beyond the seemingly endless sea, you'll find Crossbone isle. It might require a few search, but it is there. As far as im concerned, only i know of this :/

Would be AWESOME if the devs could do an updated remaster. Combine both games into 1, make sure there's an easy way to transfer saves to the second part and make locations from the first game accessible.

first time i played Golden Sun...never came to this place (cause i didn't know it existed)....second time...i came too early and didn't have what i needed to reach the bottom. 3rd time...i was like "how far down does this damn cavern go...WTF!"

You can visit it as early as when you cross the Karagol Sea onto the Tolbi-bound Ship. If you chose a specific pattern for new rowers on the boat, the ship will go off course and you land up in Crossbone Isle. You can go as far as Floor Three at that point. But some equipment and items are good to loot before you go on about your journey.

One thing I just noticed while re-watching this walkthrough, Golden Sun is pretty much as balanced as Chrono Trigger. There seems to be no real need for grinding (especially if you take advantage of Tolbi for coins).

I know the feeling. You still can play both games. All you need is a GBA emulator, and a PC OR a phone. You then download the roms for both games, load them in the emulator and you play. GBA emulators are generally performing well even on phones nowadays. If you miss those games, don't fret. You can play them just fine today. No need for a GBA anymore.

You go all the way down there, just to get a bunch of shitty equipment items that don't really justify what you had to go through. I guess the real treasure was the puzzles we solved along the way...

The real treasure down in that place is the very priceless Cleric's Ring. It cancels the effects of cursed equipment, allowing one of your adepts to equip them as if they have never been cursed. It's the only one in the whole two games. Very important if you want overpowered cursed equipment in your transfered save for Book Two.

@@absalondebarvac3715 be sure to bring it over to The Lost Age. It's an excellent ring and in the second game, there's cursed weapons and armor that are extremely powerful for the endgame.

@@absalondebarvac3715 it's on one of the lowest floors. The one with the dragon and the ice frost puddles. The chest is in the very center of the room and require some thinking to access it. But make sure you keep that ring. In the second game, you will find dark matter, a forgeable metal, and it creates exceedingly powerful weapons and armor. For the endgame, it makes for good defense and attack against the superbosses.

How do I know if I’m underleveled for this dungeon? Right now My party is lvl 20 and I have 4 venus djinni, 4 mars, 5 mercury and 5 jupiter.

If you're putting up a decent fight against the "door bosses" you're fine.
