Dark dawn wasn't terrible. It just wasn't as good as the new 3ds golden sun game was expected to be by its very hyped up fans. Following the lost age, which was actually a very good sequel, couldn't have been easy. A few subjective pros and cons regarding dark dawn. Pros: 3D looks pretty nice. Sveta (werewolf girl) was pretty cool. The astrology tower was a nice area. Cons: emotional response cues are frequent, oddly symbolized, and seemingly irrelevant for the most part, on top of extremely lengthy dialogue. Easier compared to the previous games and continues to lock players out of certain areas as you progress, making backtracking for missed djinn impossible. But to me, the biggest letdown was not having a battle with Alex, who has been a menace and pretty much the real antagonist of the game since the first, and then it just ends on a cliffhanger...indefinitely it seems

It's the same deal as Torneko in DQ4. The fact he doesn't have a niche IS his niche. You can afford to mess with his options and use questionable tactics on him, because it'll be better than what he has at base.

Honestly, I think the Cleric's ring is best utilized on Darksword Isaac with the Tomegathericon so he can cast Call Dullahan to rival Felix's damage output.

Sheba’s the optimal copy of Ivan, not the other way around. Ivan was my best character I used throughout both game. Sadly, it’ll have been nice to have him in Dark Dawn, but his daughter makes a good replacement for him. Wish they can release DS games. Dark Dawn was the only series I have not finished playing bc my DS happened to break at that time so never beat the game. It was a great game.

So I'm gonna put some respect on my boy Piers here (and Garet too, I guess). Piers class options may be a little regrettable, due to Mercury-classes really doubling down on support spells when Pier's stats really want him to be a tank, however this means that he can be that aforementioned fill character because his access to the best gear in the game and his natural bulk can make him a really effective anchor despite a class optimization shortcoming. Heck, statistically his best class is probably Warlock, but that super offensive spell list really doesn't do all that much for him. Legit, I think he's best slotted in as a guardian instead of a final tier class, because offensively the class is on-par with his more 'optimal' setups with a lower djinn requirement at the detriment of his mana and speed multipliers being lower (two things he lacked in the first place). Piers was never going to be your first-striker nor your primary caster, but he can use the two best weapon groups in the game: longswords and light blades and guardian gives him access to ply, wish, revive, break, cure poison, restore and cutting edge. He won't go down, will do acceptable damage and has a ton of utility, despite no real buffs in his spell list. As for Garet, just make him a Paladin. The djinn setup is a little more demanding, but he'll have higher stats for the same benefit basically.

Garrett is my curse boy, toss all the powerful curse items on him (with anticurse ring) and let him be a slow tank

I hate that Ivan/Sheba and Ivan/Felix are basically exact clones. Only Garret / Jenna and Piers / Mia have differences... If you think about playing this, play it on emulator and use the unofficial patch! You get great character / items / djinn rework and the game is actually difficult and you need to reset at early game bosses if you take it too easy and do not buy new equipment / farm a bit.

For some reason, i always get loss in the djinn combinations, idk how or what djinn and character can make a perfect match, example if you fuse a earth djinn with fire djinn in isaac, he loss a lot of stats but increases a few, but now, you got new spells like grass attacks :b

Loved the video. Shit Tier: Garet. Garbage until end game excalibur spam Sage Tier: Piers. Either excalibur spammer for end game or sage for Pure wish. Sheba, on the same level as Ivan except no tisiphone edge for single target damage. Make her a sage to spam Rime and Pure wish. Mia, exactly like Sheba, make her a sage to spam Luff and Pure wish. Ivan, make him a sage to spam pure wish. You see where im going with this. Jenna Tier: Jenna. My personal number 1 character all around and is always in my party. Make her a Brute line for dps or keep her as a flame user. Shes great to use for abusing Megaera alongside sheba in the early game of lost age Earth Adept Tier: Isaac. earth adepts are OP. glitch a second sol blade in airs rock for him. Saves you an extra orihalcon. Felix. earth adepts are op.... give him a sol blade and call it a day. As for summons, jenna using megaera is all you need, rest is optional. Iris and charon are a waste, i highly recommend you do not use. If you want to summon spam Eclipse and Deadalus are the best for defeating anything in a few turns, including Dullahan. Just make sure to defend while waiting for the missiles, do not swap anyone, just let the first 4 characters be defeated. (I challenge anyone to do a low level run, no random battles or summon starts allowed and all bosses must be Djinni slain. Good luck and say Hi to Briggs for me.)

I am surprised about your tier list. When TLA have been release, Piers was one of my 4 main party members. And after watching your video i've checked on gamefaqs the stats of characters. Piers have the 3rd or 4th place for every stats, he only lack of speed, that is, i think, pretty useful because he mostly heals after the party getting hit by ennemies. Also, having mostly One target attacks make him usefull because nearly every boss and strongs ennemies are alone. I had never use jenna, and again, i saw the stats and she have bad ones (garet have better stats except SP and speed)

I feel almost ashamed This game is like what 20y now? I NEVER optimized over bulking my adept with their djinns of same element. Hell I prob due to this list wanna replay it for my 5th time. Incredible list. And poor Garth and Piers. It sucks being made a tank and just suck at that to as Isaac and feelix just are soooo much better at that role.
