Also after a battle ends, and you know the chapter is ending and there is no more combat, you can swap high prestige items; to get paid as much as possible after the battle end. Since payment is based on your prestige.

I am addicted to this series! One tip I have is that I believe the scabbard can be useful for looting. If your inventory is full you can sheath a weapon you have in your inventory for extra space. Plus if you end up getting a sergeants scabbard it is free prestige and does not stat penalize you as long as the scabbard is empty. Also like others mentioned you can actually check your inventory in looting and shop screen without closing out of them by pressing the small inventory button in the middle of the screen so that you don't lose out on any shop items you may want by accident!

Please talk to the waifus (or at the very least do Cecelia’s storyline), free healthcare for the first 2 chapters is a run saver. Also a small note about Eva without spoilers, you have to peacefully resolve all the village encounters surrounding Cambrai if you promised her no harm to her people, which means no fighting the peasant militia and resolving the other one with either coin or just walking away (village 1 and 2). The sergeant won’t be too happy, but you’ll get some very nice dialogue from Eva, and a powerful trinket called “Oath”. Also if you spare her father (or just hit him with a crossbow), she’s unlocked as a marriage candidate later on……

oh yeah, some of the waifus amd side quests give *good* rewards. evas ring is a run saver just like cecilia'a free healing. Can you win without minmaxing? Sure, but engaging with all the mechanics and figuring out how to exploit the system is half of the fun

I'm still half convinced that this game is just a very elaborately disguised medieval dating sim with a battle simulator attached to it........ And considering what the DLCs do, I don't think I'm wrong........

Crossbow reloading tool is honesty one of the best trinkets you can get for a crossbow build. Removing the stamina cost of a reload is massive, saves you a lot of actions and keeps you less likely to be hit.

1:55 the Buckler is best shield in game and will carry you to the end. Other shields have too many penalties that make it not worth it, plus they will get smashed easily in later chapters when you face heavy armored knights/nobles. Buckler/war axe, buckler/estoc are great builds with right trinkets

Love the series! You can click inventory below the proceed tab when you are looting or taking items from Bartholomew's quest and you can add those bolts to your pouch instead of throwing them away. You can also equip looted armor or weapons that way. You definitely need some sort of melee weapon with the crossbow build too. Edit: Another hint is you can press the green arrows in the inventory management to move items between the chest quicker

It is, with good poison to spice things out you can give ruffin run for his money in like 3-5 turns in the vilage quest

Crossbow falls off very slightly late game when you are fighting multiple enemies, but those are rarely the challenge if you at least are able keep up with the melee training or are able to arm yourself with a large supply of bolts. Against single targets, especially with poisoned bolts they are insane. Doesn't matter if you are, sir whatsisface with 69 stats if you get every wound under the sun.* *spoiler *This is a lie, sirwhatsisface has every wound being under the sun and is still incredibly tough, especially since you too were under the sun for a long ass time.

I think the crossbow doesn't depend on your stamina, only the other guy's stamina. It doesn't depend on your fatigue either. You can also like Inventory to equip items during the loot screen, so didn't have to give up the scabbard or the rusty sword. You can just equip and take it by clicking Inventory during the loot screen.

offensive or defensive does not affect crossbow hit chance - you can shoot from defensive the lower their stamina, the better you chances to hit - your stamina doesn't matter truly maxing the attack skill will more often than not bypass the shield crossbow reloading tool is king - no stamina cost means no fatigue cost to reloading, and reloading is the costly part

the string is really not worth the slot, but you'll figure out the bolt economy on your own when the sergeant starts allowing to order equipment, order a crossbow - that's the way to get a good one earlier than shopping or looting for one

I have been away as the EM championship is ongoing... so todays notes are VERY long (it's from the last 5 episodes)... If you see this, I am sorry for the wall of text. But it didn't make sense to write comments on the older videos. searg items (pt 11). price goes down with quest (like healing), and it works great as he gives you "good" items for the chapter, which can enable you to complete the blacksmiths quests. searg bag: he ask for the bag back, if you don't trigger his "earning" quest at act 1 or 2. It is a question of when you gets certain triggers. young knight: you killed him a few times now. If you can kill him, you can usually survive chapter 2, and then its quite possible to cheese the rest of the game for an ending. pt 12: you still forget to buy the poison herbs, which nets you an easy profit. You will get used to it over time tho. the 2* crafting is so useful, if you keeps playing the game, then you will look back and laugh at how OP it is. Crafting high is insane. the serg profit quest, is the one I mentioned earlier. You can trigger it as early as the prologue chapter, and if it is active before the water carrier quest, then he will not ask for the bag back. the mail armor (chain mail (red)), is what you needed for the blacksmith quest, combined with the leather armor. It's possible to start with it as an item, which is what I usually do, as it grants me access to the 2nd part of his quest. the quest where you go into the city, you need to remove the knightly chain. other then that you had 1 of the 2 useful and the 1 optional trinket. (lute + hare foot). The last remaining is the criss, which Eva sells, and it's explained in the quest text. (go as a monk) please take a look at the blacksmiths shop! And his 2nd quest!!! the armor you made is quite decent, the "issue" with the homemade equipment is the stat penaltys. Which gets removed when you get higher crafting. congratz on getting past the old searg... now you see your best friend and the real reason we save him in chapter 2. The fight against the shieldwall. Bart exist only to give a very fat character a chance to survive. If you get him through the fight, then it's worth doing at least the first part of the chapter 3 quest. pt 13. I am honestly so pleased, you finally see the reasoning behind the hunting sword/hunting knife. Midmax is love, midmax is life. Nah kidding aside, it is very useful to get more leather (and coin). You are a monster, who kills Eva's father? Horrible. tourniquets requires cloth, not bandages. part 14: You stressed me out, by killing Eva's father and fighting (all the fights) you went for the hardest route. Phew, you made it. So the reputation requirements at the end of chapter 3 is as follows: noble route (english) requires high rep with the earl (90+) The merc route (french) requires decent/high soldiers rep (70+) If you fail or turn both offers down, then you go down the "not a hero route". And after Eva, you have now met the best girl with the best bath scenes. Olivia is bestest girl. I suggest you do what you can do to get friendly with her. hehe part 15... So you get the ability to hire more after a few quests, ther squad section is very counter intuative for the merch route. in the future on the merc route, select 4 units as they are free (they are the people that followed you from the siege). in the noble route you are able to hire people and its better explained. good manager is great/bad, it very heavily depends on how you play with them. I personally like to keep my squad alive. changing squad members items are buggy, and if you replace an item then the old one just despawns. part 16: Finally reached the latest part! Yeah you skipped the 4th chapter and the 5th chapter almost entirely by "failing" the quest. This is one of the more common routes to actually finish the games "no damage" challenge. And as you can see with the total score, you get so much more score by simply surviving. Congratz on entering the middle of the game! Rather then a crossbow build, I would suggest you go for a high craftmanship build and try and survive a merc run to the end of chapter 6. (you were literally one fight away from being able to skip the rest of the game!) You have all the skills to survive the early chapters, and running a crossbow you will most likely get practiced at mid maxing the loot, and running a bag. I wish you luck. When you eventually die I (as I wrote earlier) suggest a different build. High craftmanship, high starting stats. A few civ talents (perhaps). The lack of weapon skill will be fixable as you should be able to make loads of money with your craftmanship, so you can train with a coach for 35 coins.

Loving this series - picked up the game after watching and I'm hooked Some things I've picked up 1. Slow down. Read about different attacks. Understand your trinkets and swap around for "town" and "combat" 2. Inventory / Money management. Don't buy everything and fill your inventory at the start of every playthrough 3. Crossbow. Its great, but with your character gen points you can make a beast of a melee character and breeze through the early game 4. Speak to the characters. Read your quests. I get its hard to play and do commentary, but a slightly slower pace is going to save a lot of second hand frustration So glad I refound this channel - was there for the first Arkane Deathbloom many years ago. Keep it up

Ok, RN you have empty vial in phisitian’s trading inventory I recomend you buy it (and do it rn, coz when you look for it it in normal trading it never rerols right) so you can have better resoults from scavenging and will get ingridience for stronger poison. Just equip it when you go scavenging and then when you stuff herbs into your inventory you can swap it for a lootbag to get more space as the vial had fulfiled its purpose. Last time I used crossbow main build (with reloadin tool ofc) I felt like it on average uses less stamina than melee based so I’d say to priorytize poison ingridience over leather and leather over hearbs, cloth I take only if I wana craft turniquets at the moment. Master of poison is first on the list for when you wana crank out poison, herbsman is second, craftsman third. Having ferquent x2 crafting is mega money maker. Shop price of ingridience for „liquid death” is 195 (if I remember price of unknown toxin right) one full bottle sels for 195 but duble crafting ads you that extra 195 if you wana sell (for me it is saved for boss as unknown toxin is rare) if you have spare leather in trading screen make waterskins, medicines and crank out potent medicine, simmilar to poison situation ingridience 49 (market price) crafted item sells for 90 but on duble crafting you hit the bank. It gets crazy when from 1 set of ingridience you make 4 potent medicine in you duble craft waterskin and medicine. BUT! Don”t go absolute ham on crafting skill till you have crosbow at lets say 20 and mele at 10. You are militia first and gotta survive first. (But vitlity can stay low least usefull stat ,if have any good armor almost never used (colossus will improve it passively ad so will bathhouse like brothel does endurance) As you witnessed from you a bit underleveled character in Renes when you take cambrai you wana have fat stack of money to power lvl then and there. It is best time to do so as you don’t have much pressing matters to atend to or cities to save/ besiege. Before battle under walls of cambrai (in chapter 3) I can see you have around 30 crossobow and 15- 20 mele of you are resourcefull and have luck (power of money) on your side. The faster (in each chapter) you scavenge (and heist) crank out consumables to sell the faster you can focus on power lvling. To remember better, general framework approach how to money: New chapter-place order for chest armor with sergant- sell loot(but keep chest armor if have space to spare in chest)- rest-swap trinkets-scavenge-take armor from sergant(you can do it twice per chapter)- swap trinkets( if you have +crafting ones)-craft(meds,poison and armor)-sell(if poison ingridience show up buy on spot)-swap trinkers(if have ones raising srt or const)-heist-sell(if poison ingridience show buy on spot) -power lvl- ocasionaly visit trading to upgrade gear and buy crafting materials. You can acess your inventory both in looting and trading screens so you can equip,use,apply and swap item freely, its under „inventory” button located a bit under proceed/back. Scabard is usefull for looting you can just seathe any single hand weapon if you are short on space. Also, as crossbow main I think you really wana that reloading tool, reloading takes lots of stamina which = fatigue and vulnerability from lower stamina. Also ,very happy that my last comment was of relevence and hope i did not dump too much😅

If he makes it as far as last run , yep. At 100+ levels, there are a ton of points in character creation for the creation of almost real knight. (Though a rookie one due to the exponential points required.)
