Crossbows Are Underrated | AOE3

In this video you will learn how to counter rush using the best unit possible in early game. I will be playing France on Deccan and show you how to have a good eco and units early in the game. So it's good to have a few skirmishers and a few crossbowmen in your army at same time?

Yes, it’s totally fine to have crossbowmen in your army and to upgrade them to veteran if you have a lot of wood or age up to fortress age and still have some remaining in your colonial age army like in my case here. Otherwise, just make skirmishers since they are better (longer range) and you don’t need to upgrade them to veteran in fortress age. I hope this answers your question. @@theaggrokid6300 see my thinking was sometimes I just throw in ten (no more than ten) or so crossbowmen with a bunch of skirmishers. Just for the sheer hell of it.
