The joke with Viceroy is that everyone ignores him; even when the crossed are rampaging and the world burns around him no one pays him any attention and he just walked away from it. Even his death is completely accidental and the situation that caused it had nothing to do with him personally.

What I loved about this volume was just how much depth was given to the Crossed themselves, giving them new patterns, new sides to themselves. We got hints of that across the Badlands series, with the lore and ideas presented, but I always felt Spurrier's handling of it just gave it even more sense of culture and complexity. I especially just love the idea of some people already being so mental and broken, they just are not affected by the virus. Plotlines definitely got more interesting, more complex without ever feeling too large for its own good. I especially found it interesting how they characterized the Gamekeeper, with him being this almost Judge Holden type figure, albeit far more emotional, more savage even. And again, definitely agree with your guy's criticisms, and I feel as though vol 2 is just a huge step up from vol 1. Great review, can't wait for the next one!

Wish You Were Here is one of my favorite Crossed stories and I'm glad you're reviewing it because I haven't read it in a long time so it's a nice revisit. Sad to hear your comments about YT at the end; I actually had to notice that I hadn't seen any of your Crossed videos for a while and actively go to your channel so see what I missed.
