I found a straight line quilting pattern that is like a decreasing crosshatch for a Trip Around the World quilt. I can’t figure out how to do it because the lines go through the diagonal corners of each length of squares that enclose the center. So they don’t all start at the edge. How do you do that? Hope you can figure out what I mean. Thank you for your very clear directions!

I wonder how I would mark a 5” border that surrounds a panel.

I woudl think it woudl be the same as marking a quilt top, except it's a longer narrow strip. If it was me, I would decide how far apart I want my lines to be and mark the lines in the same way as I do on the sample. I don't know if that helps. Let me know how you get on.
