My that was an insane border crossing. I would lose my mind going through that and it would take me all day with confusion. I can’t help but wonder how poor Noraly deals with bathroom needs on long days on the road. So many times a “detour” into the bushes could be a life altering experience with wild nature I bet. What Noraly does here is not something that everyone could do …….. at least not as efficiently and as good spirited as Noraly does. Lady you are one exceptional human being. You are surely creating your legacy every minute you walk on this planet.

The road you were on is the Pan-American Highway which goes all the way from Alaska to Patagonia (with a small interruption in Columbia). The complete transport of goods throughout the Americas is done via this road (if not by ship or plane). Now as you have mentioned, border crossings are not as easy as in Europe over here and have in mind that there are countries which are in conflict with others or having civil conflicts going on. That's the reason for the eternal line ups of trucks on the borders.

@oliviafranzen2959 Жыл бұрын
@@GAVACHO5150 oh sorry, I had it small and didn't see, that you were referring to the other comment. No, most of them have it turned off. They do it every once in a while and they sometimes have to in order to advance in the line. Refrigerated trucks have priority anyways. They are not waiting in line. Most of the trucks don't even have AC. Normal local houses don't have AC either btw. We are very much used to the heat. My house doesn't have AC, neither does my car.

@@GAVACHO5150 well, you know, we are tiny in compare to the US. We just have about 5 million people. They are working on expanding the Panamerican Highway but it's quite a task. It's all jungle down here. Well not all but most of it. On top volcanos, earthquakes and then there are the problems with our neighbor country Nicaragua. Our last administrations were not too friendly with Ortega. Let's see if the current one is at least able to talk. Talking is always better than hostile silence.

At this time in particular well intentioned people around the world need all the positive reminders we can get, not only of our connections to one another and of the inherent wish to support our families and each other, but also of the hoped for effect of world wide communication, exposing both the good and the terrible. Itchy Boots goes a long way in uniting viewers worldwide, emphasizing the unique cultures of the various regions while reminding us of our commonality. Crossing the border was quite an exercise in patience - immigration, import permit, insurance, and sim card activated. All of your experience in crossing borders has really helped. I'm really glad for you that they were able to repair your laptop. Hope you find some nice accommodations and food. I look forward to seeing your travels back south of Managua. Enjoy the journey and stay safe!

The long line of trucks reminded me the trucks waiting to cross into Zimbabwe from South Africa, when you crossed in the other direction, further back in our long trip together. I loved the joy in your face when your lap top could get fixed.

I would like to remind you: you have recently lamented of the situation in Eastern Europe and you're feeling of helplessness regarding that situation... To be truthful there is absolutely nothing you could do about that, but what you are doing right now in showcasing the beauty and adventure and what is mostly the best that humanity has to offer a traveler on the road, reminds us that there is peace in the world, and ordinary good people. Taking us on your adventure reminds us that all is not lost and that there is hope.

Hi itchy......i came on moto from honduras 3 weeks ago and got the RT PCR TEST AND RESULTS WERE READY IN 2 HOURS. but ive heard each border crossing can have different requirements. But 3.5 hours for me at border and still they didnt tell me to get the obligatory insurance for moto. So i got it in 1st town for 12 dollars for 30 days. Have fun! Im about to enter costa rica, going south. since mexico ive done 14,000 kms on a honda CGL125 street bike but i also get bored with paved highways. And im suprised how well it can handle the rough gravel. My backpack is just strapped onto back seat and carrier. And i ride with one hand. Left arm is paralized from hitting tree on moto 26 years ago. Oh and ive also done 24,000kms in China on chinese 125 for 6 months! You get up to 47 kms per litre. Spectacular country with plenty of gravel /dirt roads. Mountains are almost everywhere. Ive reached 5,200 meters on my 125 and 5,200 meters in south america gravel as well. Love your channel Thanks for all your work!!

@@crisaraya2558 it's amazing that all the Central American countries haven't gotten together to create a unified and efficient way to cross borders, after all from Mexico to Colombia all countries are fairly small. But this being Latin America, I know how it is... I'm Latin American too, and I know the expected mess...

@@RideWithRen It's really because of lack of political will. The *SICA exist and topics like that have been put to the table but hey there isn't political will in doing that, from what i know Honduras and El Salvador are in negotations to open the borders but people feel fear that gangs members fleeing El Salvador may flood Honduras, i mean they are already fleeing to Honduras but some have been detained and sent back, but to be honest the most conserned with what you are talking are the Costa Rican, they fear that would make easier for people and criminals in Nicaragua to go to Costa Rica, they are mostly opposed because of security reason they always say, first, deal with your violence and criminals and then we can talk about that, but in all fairness i don't know what the dictator of Nicaragua thinks about that, i know when the democracy returned to the country they were open to the idea. Notes *SICA: A international organization, wich objective is to achieve central american integration. It is composed of all the Central American countries and Republica Domicana, his highest organism are the presidents of each nation in reunion. **Parlacen: The Central American Parlament, It full of corrupt people, and people should be able to vote go gets in. ***Also there are treaties that make border crossing more covenient to central american citizen, like you can travel with only your ID, for example a guatemalan only needs to show his ID to enter Honduras and the same viceversa, but a lot of people don't know this and they travel with passport.
