It's looking to me in these 1.5 seconds, that your wire connections at the generator are corroded and loose. Take one wire after the other ( so they stay in the right order), clean the connecting surfaces and tighten them to the specified torque. That should solve the sparking problem and provide a reliable function of the generator.
