Billy, you are a champion. I have watched you grow over the years into a true example of a man. Smart, capable, resourceful. You are an expert sailor, staying calm in adverse conditions, making good choices for you and Serria. I love how you support her. How did so many excellent qualities fit into such a handsome man. As your Auntie from Hawaii I would like to say I am so proud of you. You are a true example of the balanced masculine in a world that is starving for this very expression. Continue loving and learning, and I'll see you out on the seas... Just recently, I have realized my dream... a Hans Christian 38T named Cetasea. I'm in Sf Bay deep in a refit. Much love to you and your sweet family..... I'm in my 60s, and I'm looking forward to kite boarding with you.

Why don't you put a big fishing float on the bowsprit retaining pin? You accidentally drop it and it'll float. The access is big enough to put a big enough float on it.
@TOOMENETOYS3 ай бұрын
Yeah it needs a lanyard badly ! I was traumatized watching it because of it had been me I’d be diving for it !
@bfeltovi3 ай бұрын
The whole time I was waiting for either that bowsprit pin or the cap to drop in the water. Some sort of retaining cord or fastening system seems like a useful mod. A float could work, I guess, since you’re probably not removing the bowsprit at sea.

So amazing that you can do that with a foiling board, its almost , well, very, hard to comprehend how it works without the sail ! But, it certainly does work. So sorry to see your dad's injury happen. We have had injuries happen that have completely paralyzed folks so one needs to really check out a spot like that for hazards ! Your dad sure did handle the fracturing of his vertebrae pretty damn well and must be a pretty tough man to handle the waterfall accident the way he did❤ so sorry about that❤ and also my condolences about your grandma passing away my grandma passed away a couple years ago and it was tough because I spent a great amount of my childhood with my grandma and grandpa my grandpa got killed on a Harley-Davidson rent a van did not see him and cut cut him off instantly killing him and then after he died it was really hard on my grandma because they were married for 55 or 56 years and she died a few years later and it's so hard where was hard to deal with I miss them still

Speaking of which…anyone who leaves the USA should have travel medical insurance. My daughter and son in law were aboard a cruise ship and he broke his leg badly. Needed surgery. The cruise ship made him go ashore in Cozumel. They would not let him back on the ship. His choice was to have surgery there (no way) or fly back to Tampa where we live. In the end it cost us $26,000 to fly him home on a med vac.
@hillsidedweller6563 ай бұрын
Absolutely! The various providers/plans for out-of-country health insurance vary in what they will cover and provide, so assess them carefully. Make sure you get one that includes medical air transport (although there can be restrictions, like transportation only to the nearest medical facility, so again, assess carefully) OR a separate air medical evacuation insurance plan to go along with your out-of-country health insurance.

I googled what a "Screecher" is and still dont know if it make sound like a Screech like owls screech. had to look up "Clewed" too. Thanks for sharing! Glad your dad is OK! "A screecher is specifically a multihull term for a very large, very flat sail for going upwind or just cracked off. Catamarans and trimarans have notoriously small jibs, making them grossly underpowered in light breeze. A screecher is larger, higher clewed, and fuller than a genoa but flatter than a typical code zero"

SUGGESTION...great vids. Can you vid following up on how u like your washer and the AC? The good bad and the ugly. Also, can Billy do a video on what he keeps as backup on the boat. For example: sail hand cranks. Wyat happens if you lose one and how many do uou keep as extra on the boat. Other examples are fuel filters, water, oil, batteries, food, etc. In otherwords, what are your emergency supplies, backk up mechanicals or tools.

I didn’t watch yet, but noticed it’s a 30+ minute video. A bunch of my favorite channels have increased video length time. Me personally, I’m having a hard time committing to long long videos, because 80% of the time I just squeeze them into short free time periods. Just saying it gets tougher the longer the video is. Perfect time to me is 12-24 minutes.
