One of my favorite places in northern Baja, everything about it the drive, the remoteness, nature and obviously the hotsprings. Last time i was there we got hit by super strong winds, we had to huddle all our tents inside the gazebo in our spot. Next day i went on a hike and on the way back i ran across the biggest snake i've seen scared the heck out of me 😅
@Famagogo10 ай бұрын
Lol, It's always an adventure. Glad the snake and you had a friendly encounter. I have heard there are lots of them back there.

That is a totally cool place! My wife and I are currently in our new van on our very first trip - camping in the snowy mountains of Northern California, and XC skiing. Can't wait to see where you go next!

@@Famagogo it does feel great. With Starlink on the van, we can work from anywhere and not feel rushed to get home. It's opening worlds of possibilities. Plus, Sprinters are amazing machines to drive. Looking forward to your next installment. Thanks!

It's been amazing! We can live on far less in Baja than in the USA. Fuel is the only thing more expensive for us.

Hey, Welcome! Yes, we have done lots of rock, ice, alpine, and big wall climbing all over the US and Europe. I want to do more, but it seems harder than ever to link up with partners. Great video, fun to watch, what did you do about your emissions system to prepare for your south of the border trip?

Just careful planning. So far we have had no issues with fuel or finding DEF in auto parts stores.

Hey Peter, how is it going? I'm planning a trip soon to Baja and I'd love to stop by this place, and we're taking our dog. Do you know if dogs are ok in that place? Of course not in the springs, but at least have her walk around with us. thanks dude, I'm binging your videos and getting prepared for this trip, I have a Revel as well. If you ever plan to go to Brazil, let me know, I was born and raised there, and can help with anything you need.
@Famagogo11 ай бұрын
Hey Felipe, Yes, Dogs don't seem to be a problem anywhere in Mexico. In fact they are everywhere as feral and pets. We worried last year that our old dog Tucker would have issues with all the strays. But, no they are very well behaved and seem to not be aggressive. I don't see any issues as far as I know. Thanks for the offer on Brazil, We hope to make it down there on our Pan-Am trip. We would love some locals knowledge. Revel on!

Thanks, for the video Peter. I received a notification that you replied to my premiere chat but I don't see your response. I was wondering about the road to Guadeloupe Canyon Oasis. We have a huge 3500 4WD Sprinter with the 170" extended wheelbase (named "Moose"). We have the VanCompass heavy tuned suspension and 235 KO2 tires, but don't yet have a locking diff. Moose does fine on bumpy dirt roads and mildly uneven terrain. I get a little nervous in loose sand, but so far we've never got stuck. I will turn around or back out if the departure angle is too steep. Do you think Moose could make it to Guadeloupe Canyon Oasis?
@Famagogo11 ай бұрын
Hey, Yes, I did. But I don't see it either. Let's try again. I think you can do it. It will be tight in a few places, and you must push through some palm trees. The closer you get to the campground, the narrower, rougher, and steeper it gets. We had a challenge finding a level parking spot, and there were many trees, so it required some 10-point turns. But it was so awesome I'd do it again, no question. I think Moose could handle it in the conditions we had. You should consider the recent rains, and that might have changed things. Driving in, you cross a few arroyos that would likely take out the road if they flood. You might try to call them and see if the road is passable. Here is the phone number listed on iOverlander. We called, but no one answered. Maybe you can get through. 686 134 4690. Here is the link to iOverlander. ioverlander.com/places/214003-canon-guadalupe-los-manamtiales-hot-springs

@@Famagogo Thanks. Sounds like a fun place to go. If we try it, we'll have a plan B. Moose has been on some rough uneven road before, but she's a heavy girl so I never want to push her too much.

I can’t imagine doing it in 18 months. We just shipped our van Wednesday to Cartagena de las Indias, and we fly out of Panama tomorrow. We left the US in September, so as retirees I suppose it’s right that we should be a bit slow.

The music you put in the background is anything but mexican....even though is titled "Cars of Guadalajara" by River Lume & Spearfisher... by the way the place you call in English Guadaloupe canyon in Spanish we call it Cañón de Guadalupe. I know because I'm from the Baja California state capital, Mexicali.
