The traction control is what is making the rig huck and buck. Do you have a way of turning the TC off? It's 100% going to get you stuck. Otherwise, lockers would also be a good idea. Also, you're never going to de-bead a tire unless you have less than 5-8 psi and you're putting energy into the tire for it to flex. In sand, no rocks just pure sand you'd get away with 5-8psi. 12-15 is my go to but I also drive a Toyota and they're unstoppable in sand. Half the time I don't air down. That's Puerto Penasco sand... about 80 miles straight across the BAY from San Felipe. Following for the BAJA BITS! SUB'D.

The MBZ has a crummy turbo lag and if you loose momentum…the rig stops and getting going is a struggle. I turn off the traction control off road…you kinda have to use the brake and accelerator to stay in the sweet spot for RPM…turbo spin+ the paddle shifter
@Famagogo11 ай бұрын
Yes, Great tips from you and @mexicoPescadoro. I was just in 4HI and did'nt have any issues coming in. But, I did loose all momentum going out and wished I'd turned off traction control and aired down more. It's all clear in hindsight.

You can’t see pot holes, topes ( speed bumps) cows, unlit motorcycles and bicycles, lit pedestrians and cars with one headlight out. Or are you writing about the old bandito stereotypes when you say safety?
@Famagogo11 ай бұрын
It’s mostly for the large potholes and livestock that roam freely at night. But also nothing good happens after midnight (Baja Midnight is 8pm).

Another Great Video. QUESTION: Do you ever worry about safety down in Mexico? (Sorry if I sound like a dumb American, as a child I spent a lot of time in san Felipe)
@Famagogo11 ай бұрын
Hey, Thank you. Yes, we do worry ourselves. It is a real thing. But maybe not as hyped as the news makes it out to be. We are watching US State Dept warnings for specific areas. And do our best to monitor other Facebook groups where travels post the good and bad updates. We try to not stop us from traveling but allow us to hopefully stay out of the bad areas and increase our safety level. We have found most of Mexico to be very open and welcoming.
