Crossing the World's Strangest Land Border on Foot 🇵🇪

We left Peru and headed towards Colombia but what i wasn’t expecting was perhaps the world’s strangest land border. A small town that touches the three countries of Brazil, Peru and Colombia. Vamos!

Yes, I would definitely do that journey in a heartbeat. For now, I enjoy living vicariously through you and Mr Bald. I had my blowin' in the wind days and gotta put in a few years of getting my kids brought up right, but as soon as that last one is out the door, I plan to be right back out the door and never stop. Fair winds and safe travels, amigos.

are you sure? traveling in developing countries is extremely uncomfortable... it looks fun, it might be fun for a day.... but then it gets very annoying. Better get a campervan and do a tour of europe (or usa, if you are european)

@@Blackadder75 I'm American and have traveled most of the states in my own country and if pitted around Canada and Europe a bit. Between the army, sailing, Dead tour, and just my own backpacking hiking and what not I'm comfortable living out of a pack and being uncomfortable. Adventure is in short supply. Comfort will always be there when you get back.

If you are going to Venezuela from Colombia, make sure you cross the border in the NORTH of Colombia (Maicao) and not from Cucuta, that is because the geography becomes INSANE amazing once you reach the north of Colombia - the rainforest becomes a desert, and in that desert, you have the Wayuu people, which were the only people from the americas who were never conquered! The Northernmost point of Latin America, called Punta Gallinas, where the dunes of the desert end on the caribbean, a marvelous place to see!

Don't recomend them that, they are naive enough to do it. If you haven't noticed they are absolutely STUMBLING through this trip, they have no idea about anything, don't know anything about the region, and speak absolutely zero spanish. And don't tell me bald speaks Spanish, it's atrocious But we love them Just don't want them to get extorted. Venezuela Colombia border will be worse than Afghanistan was for them As far as blackmail and corruption

I would not recommend by any circumstance to cross on foot the Venezuela-Colombia border. Most of it is controlled by cartels and guerrillas.

When I went to Leticia we flew in and flew out. Stayed at a resort up the river a bit, visited tribes in Peru and Colombia. Walked in to Brazil for half an hour. Even though we arrived from and returned to Bogotá they checked my passport and visa just as if we might have come via Brazil because the three-way border is completely porous (but quite isolated from all three countries)and nobody would check you while you’re in that town. If you’re looking for ideas within Colombia just let me know.

Would I do that journey? Not on your Nelly! When I watch Bald's version of the trip I see things from his pov then I watch yours and your point of view is pure reality. The level of poverty that those people live in along the Amazon is amazing, but what is so strange about it is their happiness. I heard Bald say that you are going to end you South American adventure in Columbia. Will you be heading back to see Cat, or will you be venturing somewhere else? Take care, Ben, I love your videos.

I'd definitely do that journey. When visiting Peru with friends we travelled to Agua Calientes using the locals train - with the hens and chickens! That was an adventure, it broke down in the middle of nowhere. I find you never realise adventures while they are happening.

I have done it enjoyed it but more of a rugged adventure than tourism. Colombia is amazing but very poverty stricken where you are. Head over to the Pan American highway nicer cities better hotels and very cool spring like climate year around. Happy Travels!!!

Did you go to immigration in Santa Rosa? I did that journey in 2007 and immigration was a nightmare in Santa ROSA, Peru. Immigration in Colombia was at Leticia airport in those days.
