Only seen this crossing from the train. Not sure if that's the kind of GWR train I used to travel on between Clifton Down and Severn Beach. They did "upgrade" the trains on this line not long after they changed their name from First Great Western to GWR. The trains at that time had separate compartments at each end which were originally used for first class, but there's no first class on this line so anyone could travel in them. Not sure what type of train they would have been but I'm sure they were 3 carriages not 2.

There is another level crossing under a main road bridge at Yaxham Road on the Mid-Norfolk railway. It has no barriers!

Yeah I’ve heard of those crossings, but not visited them yet. I may do in the future.

@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel Steam locomotives pass yaxham road and there is another Level crossing next to it! But diesel locomotives do as well. Grr.

Simply outstanding!! The left wigwag seems to have a tiny bit of flickering on each red LEDs, unless it's the angle the camera's positioned at making it look that way.

Thanks 😁 I think its the Camera positioning that makes you think that. It happens on a few of my videos.

Awesome video! 👍😁 Very unique atmosphere at that crossing being right beneath the busy M5. Really like the higher-up vantage point you got in this video too 👌

Thank you 😁 It is indeed quite a unique atmosphere, especially hearing a slight echo from being right underneath the motorway 👍

They'll give this crossing long barriers under a bridge but keep Dereham Yaxham an AOCL? I know Yaxham is a heritage railway (is it?) but seriously? Great video!
@UKLevelCrossingsChannel11 ай бұрын
Thank you. Well difference wise, Dereham Yaxham Road is on a heritage railway, and the signposted speed limit for trains is only 5mph, along with multiple uses of horn/whistle. It is also a locally monitored crossing with white lights so train drivers can check the crossing is clear on approach. In comparison Avonmouth Dock Jn is on a mainline and the trains are a bit faster.
