Keep up the good work man. To go from not much experience fabricating to what your building shows your natural ability to fab. I mean I went to wyotech (automotive theory and chassis fabrication) and have been building and fabricating parts and buggies and off road trucks ever sense for my self and am impressed with your skill level. I don’t know if you have heard but Protodie is up for sale, might be a good opportunity for you to really get a jump start in the industry. I know I heard in another video I think, talking about building and selling cross karts based off your design (may be totally making this up in my head and if I am I apologize)

Thanks brotha!. I've been keeping an eye on protodie but Jody's work is just a little too far off of mine.

What cv axles and hubs did you use? And what’s the planned width hub to hub?

Using miata axles. If they dont hold up Ill switch to VW axles. 55" hub to hub rear, 65" front and rear track width

I am also building a 600cc crosskart. So this was super usefull. What diameter is the splined shaft? Did you consider making a chain drive diffrential?
@jimkhana68814 жыл бұрын
1 3/8 shaft from protodie. I did consider and a diff but you want to use a new diff if you want LSD and theyre pricey. Ive seen plenty guys weld spider gears and run a diff as a live axle but they seem heavy, bulkt, and ugly lol

@mikedill73783 жыл бұрын
Seems like a nice strong unit you made.....but....I would add couple of grease fittings to the body near the bearings.....so they last longer.
@jimkhana68813 жыл бұрын
They're sealed bearings so no greasing.
@mikedill73783 жыл бұрын
That means per greased.....more never hurts...I would say oil but.....with the spline shaft....would leak out
@buddtwin23 жыл бұрын
@@mikedill7378 having grease fittings would do nothing for the bearings. The bearings are sealed. The splines and bearings move together. You wouldn’t want any grease getting in between the spline and bearings anyways as this could cause less friction and allow the spline shaft to spin faster then the bearings.
