This fly is a definite winner. I’m currently fishing with it in Montana and it’s been my top producer-especially during heavy caddis activity. The tag in my case is Glo-Brite #6, which is what I have with me to tie with. For the body I’ve used natural squirrel or Hare’s Ear Antron. They both work. For the thorax, I used a darker squirrel. I did not counter wrap with the thread, but that’s something I should do as the fly shows damage after some use. Thanks for this fly pattern!

Fred le Roux that’s a tough one. South Africa doesn’t have a terribly reliable postal service unfortunately as I’m sure you know. There is an ebook available online if you search for it. The movie will have a Vimeo digital version when we release it.

You have probably figured this out already, but if you wet the tag, you can tie in the tailing fibers anyway you want.
