In my bus industry on social media, it is forbidden to say Elizabeth line as Crossrail is the best

From what I’ve heard. The zones will end at Slough on the Western End Zone 9. Oyster will be allowed this far and I’ve seen the machines and signage take form at Stations such as Langley and West Drayton. From May the Hayes shuttle will be Tfl rail and will use the new trains. Where as existing Heathrow connect trains will be used for the Heathrow tunnels. As the new trains have an issue with the signalling system ATP at present I believe. Whole system upto Reading though won’t be open until next year though. Great video thanks for posting Syrus. I hope people don’t confuse this with the tube as it’s NOT the same.

Looking forward to its opening. Crossrail & the Picc. line will have Heathrow in their pocket. The range of different fares/journey times will certainly give HEX a wake up call.

Chris' Trains They will be special fare zones. Only 2 trains per hour will go to Reading. Zones end at Slough zone 9.

Toby Summers they don’t end at slough. they end at Hayes in zone 6, since GWR stopping services between Reading and London will be taken over by the Elizabeth Line, they may introduce more services per the hour.

Thanks again Syrus, you have cracked me up with your closing comment! Can I suggest you do a video on London train terminals (Waterloo, Victoria, paddington, etc.) and getting between them. When I arrive in London I'm coming from Gatwick, and getting off at London Bridge, but many other trips across London and around the UK will involve more complicated plans. Perhaps you can help... (And I can have a pint or at least a coffee with you in August?)

Awww man! I'm going to be there in September. It won't be open yet. I was just watching a show about the operations on the London Underground and they were showing the new tunnels being dug and the Queen revealing the name in a ceremony. I was kind of excited about maybe getting to ride. Yeah, I'm kind of a dork. I also saw you in a detective show (can't remember what it was). You were an assistant and answered the phone so we hear your voice before we see your face. And I was like, " I know that voice! I know that face." :)

Crossrail is NOT A LINE! IT should be called Elizabeth Rail because crossrail is the mode and the Elizabeth line is the name. Like the Piccadilly line. Look on the crossrail map they have parallel lines not a solid line. The solid line represents the London underground the parallel lines represent either the trams or crossrail. Plus the London underground is not part of national rail crossrail is the underground doesn't go to reading. Also crossrail passes through some underground stations so the ones crossrail stops at like Tottenham court road that will then become parry of national rail THANKS FOR READING. STEPHEN

jalabi99 Crossrail is essentially a new form of transport for London. A mix between a railway line that travels in tunnels and an express tube which we've never had before (the met line calls at all stations in z1). Similar to how you have the tube, overground etc. Crossrail was going to be the mode of transport however now, the mode will be 'elizabeth line' and there's nowhere else in the world where 'line' is used to refer to the mode. A line is supposed to be well, a line within a certain mode. It just doesn't make sense. The roundels outside stations also say 'elizabeth line' but it's not like outside Oxford Circus the roundel says 'bakerloo, central and Victoria lines' because they're the lines and not the mode. That and because the queen has enough things named after her. I know that was quite a long comment but I hope it makes sense

So basically it's just hating on Queen Liz? :) Well, you can do like New Yorkers did when Fiat became the majority shareholder of the Chrysler Corporation and then technically renamed the Chrysler Building "the Fiat Building" -- everyone still calls it the Chrysler Building regardless. Same as Chicagoans (and everyone else) still calling it the Sears Tower even though it should actually be called "the Willis Tower". So I will stand in solidarity with Londoners and call it Crossrail!

jalabi99 great to have you aboard!😂. To be honest, I wouldn't even mind if it was the Elizabeth line as a part of crossrail so when crossrail 2 opens, it would use the same 'crossrail' purple roundel. Or even better, the hawking line as a part of crossrail

As much as I am excited for it, I am not a fan of that name, it just proves to Americans that we love the Queen. Although I do like the sound of the name for a tube line, or prehaps the tunnels for Crossrail. Crossrail sounds better and more catchy than "The Elizabeth Line". The reason for premium fare to Heathrow Airport is because that branchline was initially owned by British Airways / Heathrow Airport and not Network Rail / TfL but now is starting to come into Network Rail ownership!

The existing Heathrow express trains are being ridded off they are getting a new signalling system. ETCS. The new trains this year will go as far as Hayes. Until the signalling is upgraded. The existing system ATP was designed in 1990/91 and is obsolete. Heathrow express are getting new class 387 trains. I’ve heard the new units have broke the overhead wires in the bay platform. The tunnels were BAA owner and Network Rail carry out maintenance etc. I remember a video from 1992 describing them as class 331. This was Network SouthEast British Rail era . And the class 341 and 342 for Crossrail too.

A premium for heathrow :/ well that sucks. If I wanted to pay a premium I'd have just taken the heathrow express anyway, so why even build it if it isn't going to be part of the same pricing structure? Sure it'll undercut the heathrow express but fuck if saving yourself half an hour over taking the Piccadilly line is really worth that much to you then you'd have taken the express train anyway. Hopefully this kills off the Heathrow Express and then merges into all the other London zones in the future.

HD Transport I'd go with Crossrail. I think it's just like the Tube/London Underground: you can say both but one is much shorter. "Take the tube" and "ride Crossrail" both only have 3 syllables when "The Elizabeth Line" on its own has 6.
