The cream live crossroads is one of the best of all time. It's incredible. And that is a understatement.

Clapton's version at the Cream Reunion Concert at Royal Albert Hall isn't too shabby either. It even had Brian May smiling in the audience. For Clapton this one that everyone knows and loves. Was just another night of improvised guitar virtuosity for him.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have loved this cut for years and never thought I'd ever be able to start playing it. I, for better or worse am a "mature", 70, beginning guitar player. This break down helped me so much I can't even begin to tell you. Your method is right up my beginning ally. Learn the basic frame work, understand it, then add the little parts to fill the whole cut in. I can't believe the sounds I hear while playing are really coming from me! Be well and safe peace to you and yours.

Great version, Justin! Personally, I play it around the fifth fret, because of the tone on the recording, although I have seen numerous videos of Eric playing it, and you have it correctly, of course! But ... I just don't like the sound of it there!
@JamesPetroff2 ай бұрын
This was Eric Clapton at his best. He probably played this song at 12 and morphed into blues rock after decades. Now he's sober and old, playing slow blues and railing about vaccination. Somebody should give him some whiskey and drugs.

Doesn't sound right to me? None of these type of videos do. What's missing?
@KylieKellett5 ай бұрын
Likely because there’s no bass, the bass is extremely underrated in songs while not always noticeable it’s always greatly affecting the sound and makes it sound fuller, so it would make sense it doesn’t sound exactly right.
@painfullyaware52215 ай бұрын
Not by Eric Clapton, by Robert Johnson, 1936.
@foxtrot0004 ай бұрын
This version is by EC and its riff doesn’t have much in common with the original
@painfullyaware52214 ай бұрын
@ffoxtrot0 So then, I guess, "While my guitars gently weeps" must be by Prince. You know, snce his rff in the 2021 tribute to George Harrison was completely different than the original.
@kc89235 ай бұрын
Original sounds very tired and dated now at the risk of being unpopular!
