“They didn’t see me as a project.” Brilliant. A statement that must find its way into the hearts and minds of Christians today. If a human spirit becomes a project then we’ve already failed at it. Only The Father can workout and redeem the projects that we know as souls.

Actually, they did. Its just polite not to say such things. My Christian "friend" quit talking to me bc I told her I don't think two people loving each other is a sin and they are not hurting anyone.

SUCH encouragement! Beautiful vid! One question: speak a formal blessing over the food or say it quietly to myself so as not to offend the invitees? It sounds silly, but it’s really a challenge for me. Literally, deal with feelings of condemnation whether I do or don’t. Please advise.

I have some questions - what if we know someone to be terminally ill? What was the content of the discussions without sharing the Gospel for those 2 years? i trust John 10's promises and yet Romans 10 makes it UGENT and IMMDEIATE that I shoul dbe concerned for the Eternal Welfare of my fellow human being (Irrespective of where they find themselves) -- yes that requires speaking teh truth in Love, not as a Judge with self-righteousness; but as a fellow sinner Redeemed by Grace Alone through teh Faith and Righteousness of Christ Alone imputed to my wretched case... But then how should my love for my fellow yet unrepentant untrusting friend be love at all if I restrain myself from speaking of teh most vital thing in this world, which thing has a serious and unknown time limit attached unto it. Do not get me wrong - I see what sister Rosaria is saying -- and I agree that the value of Hospitality to STrangers has ben woefully neglected and should never be; but there are constraints in both directions here that we need to address. I do not know if you are familiar with The Way of teh Master from Living Waters Ministry of Pastor Ray COMFORT, would you say that speaking of our conviction of sin and righteousness in conversation would be wrong? I am asking with genuine concern -- please jelp me undertsand how you have seen those constrainst coming together. Are you saying there are different ways to speak the truth in love and this is one way of two or more? Yours by merciful grace Alone, Willem

This is spectacular. She has discovered the great secret of effective ministry: simple, everyday interactions. It's what we homosexuals are truly longing for anyway. I suppose if the hornet's nest of the religious right spent more time appreciating the LGBTQ community, giving them space and understanding,. we might not be dealing with all this toxic political stuff. God knows I wish someone had taken 15 year old me aside and said, "You know, it may not be right, but it's not your job to fix it either!"

She is amazing, and I am a Christian, and on the right. I do believe there are unkind people out there, but on both sides. I think the media hypes the religious right, and most people I know are kind, caring people and want to be friendly to all. I sometimes walk in fear that if I say the wrong thing I will receive the type of dialogue you placed here. I welcome anyone in my home, in our family. The hate has to stop on both sides. There has to be a willingness to reach out from both sides. Reserve the anger toward those that are truly judgmental and let those of who are right and conservative be kind. Hope you find kindness. I am working on trying to reach out, but it takes the other willingness to be open to that too.

@@Dialogueisimportant7813 My comment was less about politics (I'm a conservative, probably ultra-conservative) and more about the general state of how Christianity has dealt with LQBTQ folks. I don't retract those comments, but I understand the frustrations

@@beingroxy Bit late to reply, but I've learned to let Jesus fight the battle utterly. I'd love to be be married (traditionally, lol, to a woman) at some point to some (un)lucky lady! Haha. Joking aside, as the grace and power of the Lord Jesus has washed over me in quiet times of intimacy and deep fellowship, I've experienced restoration in this area. I also had gender dysphoria (a precursor to transgenderism.) That's gone as well. Experienced attraction to women (healthy, normal, physical but not JUST physical) for the first time within the last year, year and a half.

Sexuality is not one size fits all. Her testimony is her testimony and that is all. She does not speak for milliions of gays who think they were born that way and are not afraid of themselves. Gays can certainly be Christians but they have to repent of sin and follow Jesus just like everyone else.

I disagree with one major thing. Those men definitely saw her as a “project”. All Christian’s must view the lost as a “project” although that word is bad. We need sinners to become saved so we can be patient, loving, compassionate, but how we choose to evangelize is each their own, so long as it’s biblical. And not affirming sin or avoiding the “project” aspect which is eventual evangelization (which eventually happened to her, she just didn’t realize it) is essential to us all.

Jesus sees the heart - he has all the time in the world to reach each and everyone on a personal and changing level. Not like some Christians who try to sell the gospel in an unpersonal way, almost like a bad salesperson trying to reach some unexcisting commission.

Unfortunately, this approach does not work for some people, including immediate family members. I have a dear brother that I have loved and always treated him like my own son as he is 18 years younger than I am. However, he as become more and more firmly entrenched in the LGBT/transgender movements and has married his "husband". He is further away than ever from the truth, even though he gave his heart to Jesus as a young person.

When we seek "our outcome", and feel the need to try and make people "right" in our eyes, aren't we showing our true view of God? In this scenario, our God is limited. And, therefore, we must do something to right this wrong. In my worldview, and theology, God is so much bigger, and better and mysterious than I can imagine in my humanity. I want to therefore, discern, and follow him. First by looking inward, "what is God showing me, about me?" Why am I wanting to judge someone and change them, versus looking at how I can be a better follower of Christ - and follow in his footsteps? If I can truly follow, instead of seek my own way, then, I can see God working.

My heart goes out to you (I have an immediate family member who is gay). Ultimately, it's not about an "approach that works". It's about being faithful, regardless of the outcome. It's about never having to say "I wish I done more" to express the gospel of Jesus Christ - in word and deed - to those I love.

Butterfield’s theology is “Reformed”, as is the theology of probably most of the creators and viewers of this site. Calvin, Luther, predestination...etc. The idea that God predestined only “the Elect” to go to heaven. Sorry, but when you espouse the view that God created billions of people throughout the ages, just so He could torture them in hell for all eternity, what you have to say on that, and everything else you have to say is lost on me. You can put all the lipstick on that you want, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. Repulsive.
@shellygee137
@shellygee137 Жыл бұрын
That is the one error, and I believe it is a grave one, that Calvinists have: that the Creator created some people for eternal life and some for eternal damnation. It makes the Sovereign GOD look capricious, arbitrary, and unloving. GOD, in His Word says in so many places that He has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, that He wants the wicked to turn from his evil ways (is GOD playing a game here? How could the wicked repent if they were indeed created as "vessels of dishonour" in the first place?), and that He so loved the WORLD that He gave...He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him would not perish but have everlasting life. But truthseeker8018, I would not throw out the baby with the bath water. Be as the Bereans: glean the good, and the Biblical truth from what this precious woman is saying, and leave the rest. "Prove all things, hold fast to that which is good."
