When I was learning to fly and they cut the tail of my shirt off after my solo, they nicknamed me "Crosswind" because the winds were so bad whenever I signed up to fly. It got so bad people wouldn't rent the plane if I had signed up to fly that day. I can laugh about it now and think it actually helped me learn better how the flight controls worked.

Or if you want to get good at this fast, lose the crab on final and app;y appropriate cross controlled inputs on final. Good training.

I don;'t understand why 'there's no argument.' The big jets always crab into a crosswind landings. Why is it not acceptable for light aircaft to do the same?

I was told not to get in the habit of side slipping. Reason, by motor muscle memory when you become airline you will do it close to the ground and this may hit a wing. Lose job.

i almost ran into the lawn with a strong crosswind when I was taking off the other day. right before it ran into the lawn, i pulled up. scared the crap out of me. thanks

would rather see the aircraft and outside rather than a man talking, hearing someone doesn't help when you cant see what they're talking about
