Croton Plant Propagation by Cuttings with Water

Croton plant propagation by cutting is maybe the easiest way to do croton plant propagation. This method is also can produce large amount of new croton plants since from one single stem we can turn it into many new plants. The croton plant propagation by cuttings is also very effective since the success percentage of this method is very high if it is done correctly. For experienced gardeners, it can reach almost 100% of success percentage. While on our previous video we showed you croton plant propagation by cuttings with soil as growth medium, in this video we apply water as the growth medium. Here are the equipment and the steps of doing the propagation.
Equipment:
1. Croton plant's stem
2. Knife
3. Water container
4. Clean water (as the growth medium)
Follow these steps to be succesful in croton plant propagation:
1. Take healthy croton plant's stems from the garden.
2. Remove all leaves from the stem.
3. Make 6-10 inches cuttings.
4. Remove the stem's skin at the bottom edges of the cuttings.
5. Place them in water container.
6. Fill container with clean water.
7. Put the container in shaded area until the roots and leaves of the croton plant grow nicely.
8. New croton plants ready to be planted in other growth medium.
Those are some easy steps of doing croton plant propagation by cuttings in water.

My croton dropped all of its leaves and the top inch dried up. This happened two months ago. Now we know to water it better and not move it ever. There are two tiny “buds”, but they haven’t grown more than two millimeters in two weeks. Should I cut off the top dried part to encourage new growth?

Hello my friend, my Croton is falling the old lower leaves At the beginning of the spring But it continues to propagate the new branches and its leaves are small and the atmosphere we have in Iraq is hot, dry and we do not have air humidity, so I put under the pot a pebble and water to form a moist environment for the plant and fertilize it constantly, but I always notice you have a big volume of croton and it’s full of leaves large so how do I keep my plant and avoid its leaves falling???

Our weather in Iraq is very hot in summer and dry, now in night 27 C and in the daytime is 31 - 35 C, I use NPK so what kind of nutrition do you use ??
