The crow is considered to be one of the most intelligent animals in the world. These birds are part of the Corvid family, which also includes ravens and magpies. Crows are known for their problem-solving abilities, social behavior, and use of tools.
Studies have shown that crows are able to use tools to solve problems, such as using sticks to extract food from crevices. They are also known to use cars to crack nuts, drop hard-shelled objects on hard surfaces to break them open, and even make their own tools.

I live in an area with a strong crow population, so I've kinda been taking advantage of it. i built a "crow vending machine". Its a box filled with food, that dispenses food when money is put into it. I would leave food around the vending machine in a place the crows can see, start feeding them, and demonstrate that putting money into the machine gets them food. 6 months later and I'm getting 50-100 bucks a month from crows using my machine lol

One study on just how well crows could describe human faces to each other gave several participants the same mask, and had them treat the crows in a research facility poorly. The crows were later released into the city, (I believe NYC but idr), and soon anyone wearing the mask anywhere in the city would be swarmed by angry crows. A couple crows in a research lab conscripted the whole city.

That actually happened once. One man tried to save a baby crow after falling off it's nest, however the baby died in his hands and an adult crow saw it. Thinking the human was the cause of death, the man got harassed by crows for the next months, until he moved to a different place.

In Australia we have small black and white birds called Willy Wag Tails and they love to frustrate cats by double tagging them. One will entice the cat with a display of flapping its wings ,landing close or even if young are nearby faking a broken wing. Then when the cat has its arse in the air wiggling and ready to pounce the second one comes up behind and pecks it's arse. Now that bird has its attention and distracts it so the other can have a peck. It goes on until the cat flees in frustration. I BELIEVE THOSE BIRDS ARE LAUGHING INSIDE.🇦🇺

I remember hearing about a little girl in Oregon, with some serious health issues, who had made friends with a family of wild crows. Although, it might have been ravens? 🤔 I don't remember exactly. Either way, she would feed them on her family's apartment balcony, and in return, the birds began to bring her all sorts of various, assorted "presents". Nice things too! Small toys, ribbons, flowers, pens & pencils, jewelry, money, etc. Whatever they might find, as they were flying around. Day after day! All lined up, very neatly, on the hand railing of the balcony. They COULD have brought her any sort of nasty thing too, but they never did. They seemed to understand, and to comprehend, what that little "human" girl would like, and what would be appropriate, and specifically looked for just that sort of thing! It was really quite heart touching. 🌹❤

My grandpa hand raised one he found on the ground when it was a baby. He named him Scissor Bill. Scissor Bill could talk and he had free range which meant he could come and go as he pleased. It was pretty cool and fun.... but Scissor Bill would steal anything shiny y away with it and hide it. We searched all over the woods behind the house for two days for the car keys. He stole them and hid them in a hollow spot in the top of an old oak tree.

True story. A friend if mine used the bus to commute to work every day. And every day crows would pester him for some of his breakfast bar or sandwich that he ate as he waited on the bus. The crows started offering him shiney objects they picked to exchange for some crumbs. So.....he started putting coins on the sidewalk near him and they would pick them up and " buy " crumbs. The bigger the coin, the bigger the bite they received. This went on for weeks during which time he decreased the number of coins and only giving food to those with money. The crows started looking for money elsewhere and bringing it with them every morning to buy some of his breakfast. He was training them and it worked beautifully. For three years until he purchased a car dozens of crows showed religiously every morning to buy breakfast from him. He joked, truthfully, that the crows paid his bus fare for three years. True story.

There may have been a young crow on the ground nearby. They will put out a "call" for help. Crows will fly in from all over the place to help watch the young one & especially watch for cats or other threats. When the threat is over, a different call goes out for thanks & all the crows disband & return to wherever they came from. They are fascinating. I raised 4 crows at different times. I love them so much. They are truly amazing. They also can learn to talk very clearly. Don't be afraid of them. Instead, consider it an amazing opportunity to sit & watch them & their antics. Put the crows back in the box without touching them and the parents watched me from across the street. I saw a crow on a tree, observing the carcass of some animal. A big vulture was currently eating that animal, but Crow wanted it. So, Crow called down menacingly to the Vulture but he kept eating. Then, Crow looked up and called to the West. Silence. Crow called to the East. Silence. He was calling for backup but no one was around to help him tagteam and pilfer Vulture's meal. Crow eventually flew away, barking some loud curses to his deadbeat homies. It was so cool watching him scheme, watching his head move and tilt and think how to steal this dude's food.

We've rescued two baby crows on our ranch. One was abandoned & the other was crippled & trapped in some twine in the nest that had wrapped around his little foot (literally "growing" into it! 😳 But they both grew up to be friendly & very entertaining. They even flew down from the trees to sit on my shoulder while I hung clothes on the line!! (And they always tried to steal my earrings!! 😅) I was a proud "Crow Mom"!! ☺️

Absolutely adore them!! I make friends with crows and ravens and if you ever really look at them they are absolutely beautiful and their feathers are not black but have an iridescence to them. When I moved back to my home town, I was outside by the water for a while and a couple crows came and sat beside me. I had a gut feeling that I knew these guys from a couple years back when their mother fledged in my back yard tree. End of story, everyone else around thought I was losing my mind. But the two crows and I had a full conversation and reunion and they were very glad to have seen me again. Very nice animals if treated well
