I have a so much admiration of crows and how very smart they are. We saved one after he hurt his foot and kept him safe until it healed. He was our friend for 5 years and brought his mate and babies to show us. He also left a lot of shiny objects as gifts. I miss him to this very day.❤

The Bible says that humans and animals were made vegetarians and communed together here, same as it will be in Heaven. But after Noah and the flood, humans and animals resorted to eating flesh and God gave animals the fear and caution of humans. It's a subtle point in the Bible few notice, and is never preached about. It's worth pondering.

I recently rescued a crow, and took it to a wild life rehab center. It was side swiped by a car. I called a few days later, and they told me it was doing well. I drove 2 hours to the rescue facility with it inside my jacket. I put it next to my heart, and it seemed to settle down. I was thrilled it survived and got released. That bird had fight in it. I felt a bond and much love for that beautiful creature. Thanks to God and the rescue folks for helping!

We had a pet crow for 25 years. He was a very comical character and full of personality. When I was in grade school, he would skip along and walk with us to school. Upon arrival, he would fly back home. He and my mother had a really close bond. We believe he thought she was his mate. There are so many stories I could tell. Every time I see a crow I think about him and am reminded how majestic they are.

Your story has taught me a powerful lesson about how to show love together. You don't try to pet them because as much as I want to do that it would have been precieved as a threat. You loved the crow the way she needed the most. I have been struggling on how to show my adult children love but l think this has taught me to find out what I can do to make them feel loved the most. By loving them their way I will feel happy knowing they feel truly loved on their own terms. Thanks for this wisdom and life lesson.

Crows are amazing. I believe they have a sense of justice. When I was in grade school we had a music teacher that probably shouldn't have been working with children. We all disliked her but were too afraid of her to misbehave or act out. (That's what children do when they're unhappy: they act out.) One day she was coming to our classroom and a crow landed on her head, pulled out some hair and generally terrorized her. That was the very last time she came to our classroom or even to the school grounds. Today we would call what she had PTSD. She was traumatized. There was a huge flock of crows that roosted near the school grounds. They never bothered a single child or other staff member. It only happened that one time, to her. No one was ever bothered by the crows. In fact, we often fed them scraps from our lunches. Needless to say, I love crows and am grateful for their presence.

Crow's definitely have lovely personality. You mentioned that sharkey brought bread and put it in the fountain...she left it for you, as a gift. She is actively seeking your company by tapping on the window to get your attention to come out and spend time with her. Count her friendship as something very wonderful. She may well have known you from watching you interact with your previous friend..she would see that she didn't need to be afraid of you...Crow's will introduce you to other family members so the friendship group will grow and you will feed and care for them for years to come..they're certainly not daft..I have one who follows me up until the edge of town by landing on rooftops and jumping alongside me then flying to the next rooftop..etc I tell him he's my beautiful Prince or princess and he caws at me in replying...he is often on the rooftops across the road from my house and will watch to see if I come out.. beautiful birds

What an amazing love story! I love crows and ravens. I do believe they saved me from a bad situation a few years ago. I was out hiking my usual trail so the crows were used to me and began following me jumping from tree to tree. I decided to take a foot trail deeper into the woodlands but at one point noticed they had stop cawing and got eerily quiet. My gut went turn around and go back but I didn't. As I kept walking they began making very deep hissing sounds which just stopped me in my tracks. My inner voice was screaming to turn around and run, not walk,back..to get out of that area. I did! As I approached my original trail, the crows had followed me, and once again began their usual happy noises and I knew I was safe! Whew...quite scary and I never went back to that particular foot trail again. I know those guys were trying to warn me and it worked! So, that's ma story, aaaand those crows still follow me😘😘😘

The sandhill cranes in Florida are often friendly. My hubby was doing a fyi project early mornings and the male came to see him each day. After awhile he began bringing his "friend" along and before long he brought his fledgling. Sometimes my hubs would feed them. The male would come close to get the food then pass it on to his mate and later to their baby. So adorable. Love this story because it parallels an experience I had with a pair of crows who decided to befriend me after I sat quietly watching them dive bomb seagulls in the parking lot of a shopping center near my home. After returning to my apt. on the 2nd floor, I noticed shadows on my curtains. When I looked out, the crows were sitting on the roof of an adjoining building watching my apt. In the following years, I would often see them at the shopping center and sitting on the roof. This pair somehow noticed me leaving for work and would fly in front of my car for a couple of miles every day. I was absolutely amazed at their intelligence and devotion, much like the narrator's experience with Sharkey. I don't know what happened to the crows because I moved to another state but I do have this very fond memory.

What an amazing story! I have several crows on my property that visit me year round but still fly away when I go outside. I saved one of theirs that was injured a few years ago. I had hoped it would help them trust me more. I am so envious of your bond with them. The rehabber did tell me that they know me and what I did to help their flock member. I’ve read a lot about these amazing birds. So intelligent and they amaze me all the time. ❤

The key to a crow's heart is peanuts. They love them. You'll befriend them in no time. Be sure to feed them one peanut at a time.

I think it's hilarious that the jays do IMPRESSIONS of the crows so that you will feed them peanuts too. I was wondering if any of the neighbors tried approaching you in a bird costume , carrying an empty bowl, and letting out a deep-voiced caw!

I love crows; they are brilliant. ❤ I’ve played tag with a juvenile red tailed hawk for over six months A male red cardinal befriended me and brought me his daughter to feed. Both amazing experiences that I will never forget. I love nature.

Omg, I've always wanted a crow friend! I actually live on the nightly flight path of these crows and see them all the time! It's so funny to watch them play with each other in the on the way to their roost. Crows are may absolute favorite :). I used to live in an old house with my bedroom on the top floor and some crows would stop by every morning around 7am and hop around on the roof above me and talk to each other and it was such a great start to my morning!🥰

I was feeding a squirrel in my back yard, her home is in a tree 🌳 the neighbors house behind me, but now I've been feeding this Blue Jay 🐦 and he will get my attention for food, and he'll wait for his peanuts. So darn cute, and Blue Jay's are spiritual for us. A good sign if they kero showing up and you'll know, they'll get your attention. Look it up. Cute story 👍

Sharkey is gorgeous!! I love crows. I hang out regularly with a few dozen+, but 5 are extra special. Their distinctive personalities are so much fun to interact with and they communicate with each other so well. We were feeding a couple of them some raw meat and one of them arrived late. Her mate had a little chat with her and she flew directly off to the exact spot where her mate had stashed some.

My best friend in childhood nursed an injured crow back to health and named it Zorro. Zorro followed us around for years when we we’re outside riding our bikes and other activities. He was always there. Then we were both drafted right after high school, during the Vietnam war, and went in different directions and we never knew what happened to that wonderful crow.

I just KNEW this was the PNW! I live in Lynnwood, very very close to this (within two miles of UW Bothell),. I recognized the trees, the skies, the sounds even. I’ve seen the giant flock of crows, everyone that lives here has. It’s either majestic or daunting to see, 🤣 depending on who ya ask. I love em! 🌲🌧️🌊🐦‍⬛#PNW

Totally feel the love of when they bring their baby. We have a deep relationship with the animals in our area, & our favorite time of year is when the Mamas bring their babies onto our porch to meet us and sit with us. Raccoons are the ones we have the closest relationships with (we’ve met about 10 generations over the years)… when they trust you like that, it’s a beautiful feeling. We also have crows every morning; they left us a gift on our railing when we left them a treat :)

i also had a couple of crows walking with me and my dog for some years. i also tought them and their kids to wait on the floor for treats and not fight and also not attack humans. also they learned there is one treat a day and only in winter when there is ice and snow and nothing to find there is food enough to get full.
